How to Warp An Inkle Loom

Ойын-сауық

Hi my Historical Fashion Friends! Welcome to my first Technique Tuesday Video!
I wanted to start making some non-project type videos that focus on a very particular aspect of either sewing or weaving.
Today I am going to show you how to warp an Ashford Inkle Loom! I was surprised how many people watched my DIY loom video, and my putting together the Inkle Loom, and so I wanted to bring you a new video on warping your loom. I hope this is helpful and that my diagrams and explanation are clear.
Had a bit of trouble with my audio for this, phone is pretty busted. I hope it isn't too distracting.
Let me know if you like technique videos!
You need a ravelry.com account to view the full pattern, but here is the link.

I was looking to purchase an Inkle loom and had looked at Ashford looms, but the official description and photos were minimal. I appreciate the different angles you showed, it definitely informed my purchasing decisions!

So happy to hear this helped you! I know there is really not a lot of information on the actual device here online, aside from just people weaving.

Thank you for sharing this video. As someone who knows nothing about weaving or looms it was interesting to learn how much goes into this art. It's fascinating to learn not only how much work it took to make these clothes but the styles and clothes themselves. Appreciate the effort you put into making these, clearly high production!

Thank you so much for your kind comment! Of all the new hobbies I tried out during COVID, this has been my favorite. Its very fun and rewarding to weave different patterns and make belts. It really makes me think how special clothes must have been to people after working so hard to make them from start to finish by hand.
