You may just use PIE to calculate the circumference Jenell, by taking the diameter of your loop and times that by 3.142 on your calculator. Then you can divide your loop into as many sections as you want to get the sections evenly spaced. Divided by 12 or 24 will also give you two precise centerpieces across from each other. The easiest way to do this is to use a caliper or divider and draw a circle the same size as your loop. That will be taking half the diameter of your loop and simply drawing your circle. You may then just tie small pieces of string on the marks which you can just take off at any time you like. Hope this is not too confusing. Just a Tip to save you some time. Love your videos.
Awesome video. Quick tip ...math formula for circumference is C=2πr, therefore if your hoop is 10 inches in diameter, the radius is half of that -5 inches. So using your calculator you would just do 2 x 3.14 x 5 = 31.4 inches. 😁

Hahaha I knew someone would come with the formula, for which I was too lazy to Google 🤷🏼♀️🤣
I’m sharing your video tutorials with a friend who has seen my weavings on my Facebook page. You’re a wonderful source for those wanting to get started!

Hi Jenell, thankyou so much for showing how to wrap & warp a circular frame for weaving. I wondered how best to calculate the wrap portion of circular frame/hoop. Thanks again. Happy weaving. Take care & stay safe. Lots of love to you & Cody. Jen

You're so welcome, glad this was helpful!
Wonderful how you make sense out of the wrapping process.
During first lockdown in the Uk I starting weaving again (did some at college) and recently starting the round weaving and made a few for myself, friends and sister really enjoy it 😁 thanks for the demonstration.

Excellent video on circular weaving. I did a prior circular weaving that contained an inner circle. Very different technique. Your video so well explained warping without an inner circle. Learned so much. Thank you!

Thank you so much
instead of measuring the circumference of a circle all you need to do is measure the diameter of the circle, divide that by two so you get the radiance of the circle then use the formula of C = 2(Pi)r
Thank you so much!

Hi Jenell, thanks for this video😘. I have just started weaving in the round and it was very useful. Are you planning to offer other circular weaving tutorials / e-course ? I can’t figure out how to join the yarn especially when I weave with roving and then with a smaller yarn ( don’t like the «hole » it creates when you juxtapose the yarns…have also tried the interlocking method … ) Of course, have experimented a few techniques but I am a perfectionist and am not satisfied with the result … Have bought an e-course from a « famous » lady and I was very disappointed …😓 Have a nice week … hugs from France😘😘😘
Very informative, thank you. Do you have a video showing the next step, the actual weaving process on a hoop? Thanks again.
Thank you!!!

As with everything in weaving, there's usually not just one right way, it's really whatever works best for you!
I'm dying to try this

@@spruceandlinen I will!
Could you do a tutorial on how to weave a circle with velvet?
Does hemp cord work in place of warp string?
Can you include English subtitles? I'm learning Weaving in Korea. I've been watching videos.♡
OK silly question, before I waste my time weaving, to find it will not work. I did everything right that you demonstrated, until it came to putting on my warp string. I was watching TV, not quite paying attention, and instead of going through the center, I was evenly spacing it, wrapping it around. The warped hoop finished product looks the same, BUT! Do I give it a shot? Or rewarp the hoop. LOL Help

I'm not sure I'm totally understanding what you did differently, but I would say if the warp feels secure, go for it!
I looked in your store but couldn't find any 4/4 string?

That would be because I meant to say 4/8 cotton not 4/4 lol! Sorry about that!
When I touch the screen on your video, a shadow comes over the screen.. I can't make it go away and it makes it almost impossible to see your video..
