Ғылым және технология
Quick video of how to wall mount a soundbar, step by step using a Samsung HW-Q600A its the same really for nearly all Samsung soundbars and most soundbars from other manufacturers.
Excuse the poor video and audio quality, I filmed this one at home.

It’s just an old model Samsung tv, they were built like that. By the looks of it I think it’s an early 2010 LCD screen model.

with Dolby atmos soundbars would your say to leave a bigger gap between t.v. and the bar for the upwards firing speakers to work correctly ?

I got the Samsung Q990B is it too heavy if no stud behind the wall?
Having a hard time finding screws for mounting to the wall in the size Samsung recommends. What did you use? Bonus if you have a link.

Hi Lisa, what sort of wall do you have? If it's brick you can use the 6mm red plugs and screws. If it's a plasterboard wall use the drywall anchors

Great channel , your new subscriber Need Your Help : I Bought Samsung A650 3.1 sound bar which supports dolby digital, My TV audio setting is also set to Dolby Digital .But when I play Netflix 5.1 the sound is extremely low with no Dolby effect ...but when I switch to Netflix (original) sound stream then it sound so much better and loud. But if I am correct netflix (original) audio stream is just 2.0 sterio sound ? Why my sounbar unable to play Netflix Dolby digital audio stream 5.1? Is Netflix 5.1 works with your soundbar

The soundbar needs a constant power supply, so I usually put the power supply behind the tv so minimal wire is showing

Where did you get the screws from that you attached with your dry wall anchors? I cannot find those lag bolts/screws

You can buy. It's very cheap.
Did the they include the drywall anchor screws or did you have to buy that yourself? Thanks in advance

I guess I am a bit of a handy man. I would attach a piece of wood lengthwise using multiple fasteners. I would cover that and the nearby wall with a sound treatment. Then attach the bar to the wood and it will be rock solid. Literally you can hang from it and most important you will get zero rattle. A little glue behind the wood (not much) will also limit transient rattles. They even sell sound proofing gel type glues if you want to get fancy. Taking it off would get messy so I would just use a touch or regular glue near the ends and the middle. A few dime size amounts will do the job with minimal mess. Level it all out nicely.
Nice
Great video! Why does it need to sit 50mm below the TV? If it was closer the cables would be less noticeable.

A gap is preferable to stop vibrations between two device surfaces, allow access to any button controls on both devices (should remote controls become unserviceable), reduce any possible electrical interference between the two devices, allows cooling air to pass between both devices (potentially preventing heat-related lifespan reduction), prevents surface damage from the two devices scraping against each other whilst installing and removing, and allows a small vacuum attachment access to prevent dust ingress into the soundbar. I'm not a specialist electrical engineer but this is my take on possible reasons.
My wood stud on the back of the wall doesn't line up. I have the Samsung Q990B soundbar do you think those screws are strong enough to hold just on dry walls?

Buy the 700B. Not the 600. It sounds much better- larger sub, up firing speakers and has e-ARC so much higher potential bit rate if your source supports it. I was gong to buy the 600- ordered it but then researched it and upgraded. It cost me $377 vs. $199. Both were on sale at PC Richard. I also grabbed a two year warranty. Some people do have some connectivity issues with the sub so now I am covered. On the 600 even in the store, the sub would not pair. I prefer a wired connection but for $377, the Q700B is an excellent value. It can compete with $1,000 bars. The Bose $900 was the best I heard. They had it for $699 which was tempting but it lacked some basic features and the sub was underwhelming. Even without the sub it sounded very nice. Indeed better than the $700 but I could not justify spending nearly twice the price. Warranty follows price so that would have been twice as much too. I have used their warranties before. They are not cheap but they do stand behind them 100% in my experience. It's peace of mind.

What type of washers are those?
What size bolts do you use for mounting to the wall?
@MOAB-UT
Жыл бұрын
Not bolts, screws. Whatever fits the brackets, likely long e.g., 2" wood screws with a head that will sit flush in the bracket. Use a level.
How do you hide the cables and power Rick?
@TellyDan

Depends on your wall, if it's plasterboard with a cavity you can route them through the wall

@@TellyDanthank you for the video. Note that running a power cable behind a wall like you are suggesting is against all known electrical codes. At least in the USA.
sounds better NOT wall mounted. Also do some sound treatments on the walls to enhance the sound and reduce echo.
May I ask why he didnt u use a stud finder ??

Nope as long as you've got good board fixings. The bar is quite light
OK for the drilling the screws, but bad result with cables hanging around. Cables hanging around ruined it

You’ll have to add a single outlet plug behind the soundbar, because you’re not supposed to run power cords behind the wall to have that “hidden wire” look since it won’t pass code (fire hazard)
Crap how you can see the mounting bracket on the side view, it seems to be a Samsung thing.
But your wires will be showing
Does anyone else's sag a little?

Maybe the tiniest bit shouldn't much though, the plastic discs should be nice and tight to the wall
the cables really annoy me.
Sigh the wires
not good wires look stupid
