Thanks for your guidance through these videos! I’m a beginner wrapper with my first roll of vinyl. Just learning all the mistakes to make and I’ve successfully wrapped some interior plastics on my car. Definitely an acquired skill! I’m learning a lot from your videos and they give me the confidence to attempt harder and harder pieces. Getting vinyl is very hard here in Australia, I had to hunt everywhere.

I hope the owner caught the person who scratched it. That one of my biggest fears about wrapping my car. Random people touching it or worse damaging it unintentionally and intentionally. I’d rather pasti dip at least it’s cheaper and easier to fix

Christian, I think the P.I.T.A. was whoever rubbed their hands scratching the vinyl. I bought a roll of Rose Chrome Gold to do my Z in June when we're in the 70's for good. Now, I'm wondering.....I keep my cars really clean. Say I get some dust on the Chrome from driving ( I don't drive this car every day ) and then get caught in one of those passing rains that happen whenever you're car is clean. If I'm parked somewhere, and someone sees the car and comes over and rubs their hands over it, I'll have scratches in the Chrome now ? I really don't get mad, and if I do usually it's over something that I did. But, I'd be so (%$^&** off that I couldn't see straight. After all of that work. Permanent scratches. Suddenly depression has just set in. : (--------------------------------------- I remember your video of where you ran your fingernails over each vinyl sample, and every one of them scratched......only one vinyl didn't scratch up that bad. Ha boy......

I finally found something more fascinating than car crash vids! A bit sad I know...but this is such a fascinating process I am tempted to try and do my big truck. I am thinking that this is not a rugged option though, I couldn't scrape past a bush with this could I? For show vehicles or does it harden in some way? And what about duration. Love your work, looks very cathartic and satisfying!

Hi, I wrapped my car with that same rose gold chrome. I bought it from a random guy and said it was vivvid. The backing was white like that and adhesive was also gray like that and had the clear wrap. After I applied it the car turned chrome after like 4 days... so I’m just wondering if I was supposed to apply something after?

Great video! I wonder if that reducer spray makes the bond weaker. I am in southern California and want to wrap my Tesla myself, but kind of concerned about leaving the wrapped car parked in the sun where it can heat up and coming back to parking to see peeled vinyl :(((

When applying the tack reducer you only apply it to the most flat areas and not too close to the edges. Used it many times in Miami and never had issues

if touching the wrap while there is a little surface dust on it will scratch it... how the hell do you keep it clean? particulary in california where dust is a constant battle?

its impossible, chrome wraps don't last.. you end up with swirl marks the first couple times you wash it

Appreciate all your replies man! I still have not found any info about heat and wrap. In Southern california if I park outside, the car gets pretty darn hot. Probably 80C+. And since all wrap is heat reactive, my question os whether it may potentially damage the wrap to leave a car like that or not. I am considering a satin pearl white wrap diy. Thanks in advance!

I've wrapped cars in Miami and they lasted at least a couple of years. Yes the uv does draw out the color faster than other places with lower uv exposure. It's mainly the uv that damages the film. White will be fine since it has very little pigment and will not fade as fast as other colors like red or black

I had the 3M satin pearl white on my car for almost 2 years, parked in a garage when not in use. Unless you're willing to wash it everyday, it will start to look blotchy and dirty. Road and brake dust seems to permanently embed itself.

I have Xpel stealth clear bra on a white car, and its not as bad as the 3M, but it's still noticeable. I think satin products in general need a lot more ongoing maintenance. When I pulled the satin pearl white, I replaced with Avery gloss grey and it's been amazing. Going on 12 months and it cleans up like a dream. Expensive lessons, but I'd stay away from light colored satin wraps, esp if the car will live outside. Just my 2 cents.
