Plunger Switch needs special attention and White Lithium Grease to keep it working. Lots of Water comes in in the mounting area. I By-passed this Switch and Installed a Push Button Water Proof Switch on the Hood Fiber Cover near the LED lights. Works great.

You are correct and make really good points. I ended up taking the hood light out completely a couple weeks ago because the switch had rusted out and wasn’t working anymore. I wish I would have thought about at least putting white lithium grease on it when I installed it. I have some in the garage from when we put a new wiring harness in the 1970 Nova. I had to use it where the wires plug into the front of the fuse box in the engine bay.

Such a great idea, my father-in-law wants me to hook up a light under the hood of his truck. I'm guessing that's universal (his truck is a 2022 Dodge).
