Yes. I want her details to hairstyling too. Where are they at? Lol. The pin curl/roller curls ams how she flyffs them.

I bought a Singer buttonholer in 1989 from a sewing machine store after reading about it. It was also for a vertical-shank machine. You’re right , these attachments last forever. I have a slant-needle Singer now too, and I bought the Singer buttonholer for it on eBay. ❤

The original metal cam for eyelets that would be used in the 1960 'atomic' buttonhole (also works with the older metal model) foot is prized by collectors. If you're looking for an alternative, The Featherweight Shop sells a plastic replica cam that works just as well. - Cathy (&, accidently, Steve), Ottawa/Bytown/Pimisi

I inherited my husband's grandmother's machine. It has one of these, and I wasn't sure how to use it. I also inherited all of her patterns.

Great tutorial! I love using my singer buttonhole attachments with my modern sewing machine. It makes much higher quality buttonholes with more shapes and styles to choose from. Mine don’t have the bound buttonhole option but they have lovely keyhole buttonhole options as well.

Question - for the bound buttonhole option, do you run the stitch over the ironed buttonhole? Sorry, bound buttonholes are still on my to-do list so there are some things that almost make sense. Also, the facing that covers the inside of the bound buttonhole - do you have to cut and iron a matching hole? Sorry, not sure if I'm asking that clearly.

Thank you so much for this video. I feel much more confidant using my buttonholer now. I wasn't sure how to line up the beginning, and guessing doesn't always work. lol I'm saving this video so I can reference it again if I have any more problems. Thanks again.

You can get a near satin stitch if you make your zigzag stitch really really tight. Takes forever and you have to practice but I’ve done it both by hand and with an attachment. Prefer attachments!!

I read in a book somewhere that you use a shorter, looser stitch on the buttonhole foot for the first pass. Then for the second pass you use a tighter wider stitch. It's suppose to mimic a hand-sewn buttonhole (because that apparently used to be a flex with the Granny's??). - Cathy (&, accidently, Steve), Ottawa/Bytown/Pimisi

I heard you say, at least I believe I heard you say, that the buttonhole was used on high shank sewing machines, but your sewing machine seems to me to be a slow shank. Could you tell me if your buttonholer is for "high" or "slow" shank? I found a buttonholer in ebay with this message write in the box: SIMS 4634 and below V102878 - do you know if this for slow shank sewing machines? Thank you from Brazil!
