I have a large collection of Victorian and Edwardian undergarments. The tiny pin tucks are absolutely beautiful. It's amazing how these garments were worn as UNDERWEAR! I have plans to make a 1900s summer dress with all the insertion lace and pin tucks. Thanks for a great video. 😅

Thats ingenious! I’ve measured & marked & folded & ironed pintucks manually and it was a nightmare for my non-mathematically inclined brain. That little fold line it creates is all you need! I’m in love with a vintage sewing machine foot! Such is lock down life 😜

I absolutely agree! Any attachments that means I don't need to use maths is fantastic. The vintage engineers that created these attachments were amazing, and all without electric 😁

Yes it's really amazing you don't need to buy different sewing machine. Mine was from my mom. Now I'm 62 years old, I started to find it interesting.

IKR? with the popularity of pin tucks I am supprised that they don't make them!

I have a modern low shank Viking Designer 1 computerized machine. I use some of these old attachments with no problem on my machine 😉👍

Flippin brilliant video, I bought some cotton jersey fabric and wanted to have a go at making a nightie (I've never made any clothes ) the nightie I wear has pin tucks and I want to copy it 😨 at least I've got a bit more of an idea about trying them first now. No idea where to start with cutting the fabric though !!! Doing tucks will be an achievement at least. Thankyou so much for sharing your inspirational videos 😊 💖

You'd have had an easier time with the marker if you kept on folding the short edge underneath (new creases to the left, new tucks fold underneath to the right) as you did at first :) You flipped your fabric at 14:43 so that the sewn tucks were on top, meaning that the creases were upside down for the rest of your work. It's a superb tool, for sure!!

Thank you very much 😁 Autosol metal polish is great to use on attachments. They can be cleaned with an old toothbrush, and then buffed with a soft cloth. Some of my attachments were super rusty so they had a soak in WD40 over night and then a polish with Autosol. An ultrasonic cleaner is a good for attachments, but I don't have one of those (have to save up my pennies to buy one)

If your new machine is a low shank, yes they will work. If in doubt, fit one to your machine and try it out. I think the majority of modern machines are low shank. Hope it goes well ❤️

@@sewythingy Yes, it works on my Singer Fashion Mate. It was an electric machine, but hubby has removed the motor and made it into a treadle. I love it to bits, and all the vintage Singer accessories work with it.
