    Hello! I just sold my Bose 700s and bought the XM5s. Question, since I am new to the Sony atmosphere (I've owned the QC Bose family up to the 700s since 2014). The volume slider is becoming a little annoying for me. The sensitive to up the volume or lower it is super low. With my 700s, I used to slide it up to max volume with one-two upward swipes; it takes me like 10 swiped upward just to increase the volume. Is there a way to fix this? The app is extremely confusing, where is the level for NC at? thanks!

    i hate that there arent actual buttons AND that you cant turn off the annoying chime that plays whenever you use the touch control. returning my pair for this. turning up the volume shouldnt play an irritating sound for every swipe.

    @@SonyEuro Even after disabling "Touch sensor control panel" & "Notification and Voice Guide", it still plays the beep when I touch the touch panel. It it VERY irritating while I lay in bed with headphones. Defeats the entire purpose of noise canceling when headphones themselves make unwanted touch-beep noise. There are MANY-MANY people complaining about this if you look in reddit or other fourms. Please fix this ASAP! Also, can I customize any button to activate/deactivate the touch panel?

    Hi Angel, you can disable the Touch Sensor Control completely by opening the Sony | Headphones Connect app > System tab > set the Touch Sensor Control Panel to Off. Unfortunately, not all the notifications can be disabled.     My remove headphones to pause won't even work anymore! Just got these about a week and half ago. Sometimes the gestures does another thing than what I want. And sometimes the touch panel will just stop working and have to reconnect wtf man. Finally fou s a good anc, comfortable headphones and they so glitchy!

    Yeah... mine's causing issues whenever I make calls. I'm using a headset but it's automatically trying to do something with it's own call functionality. Causes the sound to just cut in and out. As long as I don't talk it's fine but if I talk it cuts off sound on the other end. Obviously some weird setting issue. Personally I wish there was an option to turn all these features off and on. Constantly accidentally hitting the headphones and hitting some button or another.

    Hi BBN, thank you for reaching out! Noise cancellation doesn't transfer during telephone calls. Although it protects the headphones user from the surrounding noise, it does not apply to the receiver of the call, they will potentially hear background noise: bit.ly/3ntb6jm. ^Sawy

    As someone who owns these headphones for almost 1.5 years, i can tell you that once headphones get warm this side panel starts to activate randomly. It gets to the point of being unbearable! I have it turned off 90% time because how annoying it is. Can't fix it, tried firmware updates. Reinstalled. Reset to factory - nothing helps. After wearing them for a couple of hours panel starts to go crazy! Very unfortunate, as I love the sound quality and noise cancelling. I would not recommend buying them if you plan to wear them for long periods of time.

    Also why does LDAC not function when 2 devices are connected simultaneously? It makes me not want to connect 2 devices simultaneously because I think LDAC is something good to have?

    Hi, thank you for reaching out. To connect this headphones to a TV, the TV needs to support the Bluetooth profile called A2DP for it to work: bit.ly/3UHJnsF. So, if your TV supports Bluetooth, and it got the Bluetooth profile A2DP, then it should work: bit.ly/3DzS6HF. However, you cannot change between the paired devices using the application. Also, when [Connect to 2 devices simultaneously] is turned on with the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app, LDAC cannot be used. The codec is automatically switched to the connection by AAC or SBC: bit.ly/3TlqVVJ. ^Sawy

    @@SonyEuro hello, My tv has got the Sony XM5 registered as an option when I use the tv remote and go into tv settings. But it would be easier to open the Sony App and connect from there. Otherwise it means putting phone up/down and then tv remote up/down...plus have to pause tv whilst doing it. The Sennheiser M4 App is convenient on that point. But I am really liking The Sony XM5. ALSO... I know about LDAC and the other codecs...But LDAC is the better codec!!?!?!?! So I would be missing out if I have 2 devices connected at same time then! It's ok to say I would be a step down because The Sennheiser M4 doesn't have LDAC, although it has something else which isn't as good as LDAC. Thanks for the reply.

    Just got my headphones. When pressing the NC/AMB button it doesn’t cycle through to turn noise cancellation off like it does in the video. If noise cancellation is off and I press it, no matter how many times I press it it just switched between noise cancellation and ambient sound! How do I turn off noice cancellation with the button on the headphones? If this is like the Bose 700 where I need to use the app on my phone to turn noise cancellation off again I’m going to be returning these and getting a different brand.

    Hi Lydel, you adjust the sound quality of your WH-1000XM5 headphones by using the equalizer in our Sony | Headphones Connect app. Just go to the Sound tab, then select Equalizer, and you'll gain access to equalizer presets, or you can customize it yourself depending on your taste. Also, you can control the amount of noise cancellation in the Sound tab as well when you select Ambient Sound Control.     Hello. I bought this headphones almost a year ago. It worked perfectly well, until your new software update for iOS. It started to pause the music, turn down the volume and turn on Voice Control. The headphones have never fallen off my hands and worked great until the last couple of days. Speak to the chat and ANC is off. I use iPhone 14 Pro. What would you recommend to do?

    @@SonyEuro Date of purchase is November 29, 2022. Actually it works well, until I switch from Wi-Fi to Cellular mode. Then it repeatedly pauses and resumes music until I interfere. I didn't try this headphones on another device, but I use Airpods Pro and I don't have any problem with them

    How do I connect the headphones to my LG OLED tv via my samsung s8+ phone? On the Sony XM5 app there is no selection feature of "connecting device to:"????? The Sennheiser M4 headphones app on mobile phone allows you to select what you want to connect to after you have PAIRED with devices.?!?!?! The only way I can listen to my tv on the Sony XM5 headphones is by selecting them on my LG OLED TV!?!?!?!.!! Which is a pain

    Hi Hossam, if Speak-to-Chat is enabled in advance, the Speak-to-Chat mode starts automatically when you talk to someone. The headset pauses or mutes the music being played and captures the voice of the person you are conversing with on the microphones to make it easier to hear. When the headset does not detect the wearer’s voice for a certain period of time, the Speak-to-Chat mode ends automatically. If you want to end the mode before that, use the headset buttons or touch sensor control panel. ^Mazen

    Why do i feel a lot of ear pressure when i use them.. as soon as noise cancelling turns out if feels like a suction cup on my ears and my ear drums feel like they are going to pop. I cant even use these headphones? There should be a way to calibrate the noise cancelling

I DOWNLOADED THE SONY HEADPHONES APP AND SWITCHED OFF THE SENSOR TOUCH PANEL AND SWITCHED OFF THE VOICE ASSISTANT AND THE ADAPTIVE SOUND CONTROL AND ANYTHING ELSE THAT WOULD MAKE THEM BLEEP BECAUSE I DON'T WANT ANY DISTRACTIONS! I DON'T EVEN TOUCH THE HEADPHONES BUT STILL THEY MAKE THE BLEEPING SOUND ALL ON THERE OWN! I ALWAYS FULLY CHARGE THE HEADPHONES BEFORE I USE THEM! I DOWNLOADED THE LATEST VERSION OF THE HEADPHONE APP FROM GOOGLE PLAY VERSION 9.5.0 BUT STILL THEY BLEEP ALL OF THE TIME!

I don't want volumes to down but i want it to pause the video in quick attention mode and again resume when I remove my palm

    Please let us mute from the app the annoying beep sound when sensors are dissabled. Minor neck movements trigger the sound.

    The touch controls are so absolute infuriating. Its cold here the majority of the year and I wear gloves. making it useless. Even without gloves, why would I want something that only works 70% of the time. Actual buttons are more robust and probably cheaper to manufacture. Just because it's available, doesn't make it the best solution. This the same reason no one wants touch only controls in their car

    I agree that it should have a manual. I have gotten manuals with everything I buy even cheapo chinese stuff. These headphones are premium theres no excuse. No reason I should not even be told what app I download either. Theres plenty of fake apps out there. How am I supposed to know if its legit.

    These controls are so inconsistent. I often wrap my hair in a scarf or wear a cover at night and I can’t use the controls when I do. That’s extremely ridiculous and inconvenient for someone like me who wears covers over their head.

    Do you cover the controls with the scarf or cover? If so, do you understand that the controls are capacitative touch? It’d be a bit like someone complaining about not being able to use an iPhone while wearing standard gloves or mittens. Of course it won’t work if not used in the intended use case.

    @@VictorMinchihLee My point still stands because that means it doesn’t work for people with hair needs like my own. I can’t just leave my hair out or it will become a dry, frizzy mess. I have to wrap it and it’s ridiculous that I can’t use the controls on my headphones because of that.

    The video should have somebody who can explain and demo. The animation is way too fast and disappears before anyone can even try it out while watching it. That is a waste of time and a HUGE disappointment for anyone who spent the hundreds of dollars on the EM 5's.
