Around the 18:20 mark you mention a good video that tells you more about the proper laser settings and to look in the description for a link to that video. I can not seem to find it.

I'm glad to see that the RA2 Pro now comes with cables to interface it to different machines. When mine shipped with the P2 there was a cautionary note that it was not compatible with the other xTool products due to wiring differences. Of course, it was easy enough to resolve the wiring issues by making adapter cables.

I recommend getting a dial indicator with a stand in order to ensure the items being engraved do not have too much runout. Adjusting the item until the runout is less than 0.005" (five thousandths of an inch) is good enough to yield great quality engravings.

[How I SHOULD respond…] Hey, man, thanks so much. Yeah, I did figure out the whole backwards thing, but it took a hot minute. I’m hoping my videos will capture the mistakes and answer some newby questions. Lord knows, I won’t have to search to find those mistakes! You have some pretty good videos as well. I may or may not have watched all of them…multiple times. Thanks for watching mine!

I gotta say, Roy. You almost hit that one out of the park! And if you had hit it out of the park, and videotaped what happened, no one would have seen the error! But I'm glad, in a way, that you did that. It shows to go ya that everyone can make mistakes. It gives me hope that one day I will be as good at this as you! (Though I doubt I could have the patience for making the videos like you do.) Thank you for your willingness to share this with all of us. I hope you'll do a video using the RA2 on the M1. The laser was the first thing I ever bought. I opened the RA2 box, got scared, and closed it back up. Haven't opened it since. Now I'm trying to figure out what I want to use it for.

great video - two questions: 1. If your LOGO wasn't so wide, could you just use the flat laser and place the baseball on the plate without using the rotary tool? 2. How did you know to do a second pass on the tumbler? Is that normal with all things metal?

Thanks for the video, Roy! I am considering this laser machine because my working space is small and I love that it has two lasers in one. Question: when you engrave the tumbler, the green cover cannot go all the way down. Do you take any safety measures to avoid getting your eyes hurt and/or getting a laser beam outside and creating a fire? Thank you so much - I love your channel!

Hey! If you’re lookin for a laser for a small place, this is definitely it! I purchased a pair of xTool safety glasses that are specked for both the IR & diode lasers. I don’t operate it with the top up without wearing those glasses…and I avoid looking at it a lot all the time! Thanks so much for watching!

It’s really not that difficult! Just start a KZread channel, find (hopefully) interesting content, invest in good lighting and audio equipment (and video equipment…and a set), make a video every week or two (that appeals to people) for a couple of years, get to 15,000 subscribers, then HOPEFULLY you may get some people willing to offer you a product for an honest review. Oh, but you can’t do all that with the hopes someone will send you something, because they may not. You have to do it because you want to help people and because you enjoy the process. Oh, and a bonus, you do get to invest thousands of dollars into the KZread video making process! Easy, right?!
