I always love how Kimberly is such a rebel and doesn't follow the arrows but forges her own path! It just goes to show how you can do your own thing and still come out with a great result! You go Kimberly!
Helpful tip: pin the paper to the lighter fabric and press the HST’s open before removing the paper. The paper will give added stability to the bias edge so it won’t stretch when pressing. 😊
Thanks for making this video and the conversion chart. I’m looking forward to having some half square triangle fun.
My mind is blown! Can't wait to try these!
I appreciate this tutorial. Thank you so much😊
Thank you kim!
Thank you for this video. It was so helpful. Plus Kimberly looked so pretty.😊
Recently purchased these from you gals and it is a life changer! Thanks for this awesome video and product!
Thanks for the cheat sheet. I made your Eight Karat quilt. It turned out awesome. Triangles on a Roll made it easy.
TOAR is the best! I love making them. Thanks for the easy answer to HST!
Kimberly, Your videos have inspired me to try so many new things! For example, I have picked up cross-stitching again after years of defeating attempts. Most of my problems were addressed in your videos. Now I am enjoying fiber arts again. I had never heard of the triangles on a roll paper before watching this video. In the past I have found triangles to be another defeating task. After watching this video, I have decided to pick it up once again. I think the accuracy of the paper will make my adventure successful. Please continue to post videos. You are so encouraging.
Wonderful thank you
I used the triangles on a roll for the first couple months ago. It works wonderful. Thank you.
Thank you for the free guide and for buying Triangles on a Roll Company. The shops around me never carried them and now I can easily get them from the FQS. And thank you for listening to your customer's wants and needs.
Thank you!
Lord knows I need these. I'm not good at HST at all. Never have been. Thanks for showing how they wk.
I as very sceptical of Triangles on a roll, but after doing the Eight Carot quilt, I love them. I’m planning on using left over fabric for a backing on a quilt, and I’m using Triangles in a Roll. Thank you Kimberly and FQ Shop.
You convinced me. After watching this I did a block that required 60+ HST. This paper is the best thing ever!
Id be so lost without your tutorials
I am getting ready to start a big project and it has 300 flying geese and 120 hst's. I am so glad to have the flying geese foundation paper and the triangles on a roll. This way the quilt will be much easier to make and extremely accurate.
Your instructional videos are always so super!!, with direct/important information!. I ADORE Triangles On a Roll!! (I say that exponentially!!). I have been using them for many years and have never had to trim-up with this process. I’ve used many different ways to do half square and quarter square triangles...over the 40+ years I’ve been sewing, and this is theeee best BY FAR. =D
I'm working on the Witch's Night Out quilt, and some of the pumpkins have tons of tiny HSTs! I was like, "Oh, heck no... Triangles on a Roll to the rescue!" Haha!
Awesome
I love the cheat sheet! Excited to start using them so tired of drawing lines!

Thank you for the directions and the PDF, but it seems to me there should be some that are unfinished at 5", so you can pair them with charm squares.
Thank you, Kimberly for a great tutorial and a great product. How many do you typically make at one time. Your video shows you making eight HST. Can you make 16 at a time? Have you ever made more than that at once? Thanks so much.

How do you use triangle paper with directional fabric?

Is the cheat sheet available on the website? I’m not sure what size paper to buy, it’s the only thing stopping me from starting to purchase the paper. I don’t want to buy the wrong size for my project and then have to buy more before I can start

Hello Debby! Here is a free PDF that will help you decide which Triangles On A Roll Paper that you will need: www.fatquartershop.com/catalog/product/view/id/134653/s/triangles-on-a-roll-guide/
Has anyone used TOAR with precuts? Like 5” or 2.5” squares? Info would be greatly appreciated. I’m trying to use up some charm packs I have for a scrappy quilt and use my triangles on a roll. Yikes!
@FatQuarterShopTX

Hello Lisa! We do have a TOAR roll that is meant for precuts like a JR and 2.5" squares, #PC100. Any TOAR can be used with precuts, as long as the cut size is equal or smaller than the precuts size. You can find this on the downloadable TOAR guide. www.fatquartershop.com/triangles-on-a-roll-guide-free-pattern
is the quilt in the background available? It's lovely.

It’s a magical paper!! But when we cut with Accuquilt, do I need this paper?? I just buy this Accuquilt!

Hello Claudette! No, in Accuquilt you don't need any paper.
Hello, so if I wanted to use this and make a nine patch star quilt...these finish at 2 1/2 inches..would my center piece nine patch have to be 2 1/2 squares? Also I would like triangles that finish at sayy 4 1/2inches what size triangles on a roll would I purchase? Thanks
@FatQuarterShopTX
3 жыл бұрын
Hello Marilyn! If you are making the FQS Nine Patch Star quilt, yes the center patches need to finish at 2 1/2" square. So the Triangles on a Roll H250 would be the right size for that. For the size of roll you need, they are labeled with the finished size. So for triangles that finish at 4 1/2", get the 4.5" Triangles on a Roll, H450.

A couple of my triangles are coming unstitched in the corners. I think they are the ones that don’t have the corner turns; the ones where you just start stitching again at the line. Any tips? BTW- was a nay-sayer about these but they are fun!!!!

Hello Greer! We recommend stitching from the edge of the paper and using a stitch length that is .5 less than your typical piecing stitch length.

Can triangle on a roll be used to make more accurate Flying Geese?
@FatQuarterShopTX
3 жыл бұрын
Hello Emily! We wouldn't suggest it. We would suggest making the Flying Geese oversized and trimming down, if you want perfect accuracy. Or using any of the various Flying Geese tools out there.

Fat Quarter Shop thanks for the reply! Darn flying geese are my arch nemesis- I’ve used triangles on a roll before (got them in the sew sampler box) and the cupcake papers. I was hoping something similar existed. Be well!

Hello Rachel! They may be hard to see on camera but the dotted lines are very easy to see in person. They look like this www.fatquartershop.com/1-half-square-triangle-paper
This video is very confusing to someone just learning to use triangle paper. Specifically, sewing on the lines with the arrows going the opposite directions.
You are not following the direction of the arrows while sewing.
I thought it said triangles on toilet paper...
Thank you!
