    Hi, second video of yours I've watched and I like the video's but I have a super hard time hearing you. The sound has lisps, distancing and echo's, I recommend you get a good mic for your next bit of kit. Sure MV7's are highly regarded, but also Blue Yeti X, Rhode VideoMic Pro and Hyper X Quadcast which is less than $75 USD. I'm not sure what is available in Australia, but an upgrade would be good.

    I agree and I did what I could, the microphone is a Sennheiser MKE400, very good mic but it picks up everything and within this room there seems to be a lot of echo. Yes I am disappointed with the audio in this video too however I figured something is better than nothing until I can get time to do this video again with better audio.

It's a shame you couldn't play with it more. We've had crap weather here in Ohio for quite a while, too. Keep up the great work. You've got a new subscriber.

    Hello Steven ... very nice ... your explanations were spot on. I just received my GTi and connected NINA using the SW ASCOM driver ... all works well. But have you found a way for NINA's flats wizard to move the mount to the Zenith? When I click that button in NNA, I get a driver error from the ASCOM driver. I love this feature in NINA which makes the somewhat boring task of taking flats a little more bearable. You help will be greatly appreciated. Keep up the new videos ... I am now a subscriber.

    Steven, I watched another GTi video (Nocturne Astro) and he said he loved that feature in NINA but it cannot be done with the Synscan app. He switched over to using EQMOD just for that feature. I tried EQMOD cable and EQMOD ASCOM but cannot get the mount to function with EQMOD

    Hi mate, sorry I haven’t replied sooner. I haven’t used the GTI with NINA for a while now as it’s now in partnership with the asiair for a more portable setup. Thanks for your video....So you much prefer NINA to the software that Sky Watcher provides? I'm very new to guided astrophotography and assume that NINA has more features. Also, I just bought some ZWO gear including their ASIAIR Plus, which has it's own software for wireless tablet use. I'm hoping to use ZWO's android control for the GTi mount and a guided DSLR. Do you think this should make a good combination?

  • @StevenMorrisPhotography

    As I haven’t used an ASIAIR in a long time I do feel the combination you mention would work well together. I do prefer NINA for flexibility of equipment as I also own some non ZWO equipment.

    Great video, I just purchased my GTI yesterday and used your guide to connect to my PC for use with astro software like NINA. Quick question, how is your polar alignment scope cover? Mine is okay until I use batteries in the mount, the clips seem to catch the batteries and it falls out continually.

  • @StevenMorrisPhotography

    @StevenMorrisPhotography

    Congratulations on your purchase. I believe that’s a design flaw, I just leave mine off because it never clips in. I wouldn’t be surprised if that changes in the future but it’s annoying. I might have to see if I can design a cover and 3D print it. Maybe that’s a new project.

  • @carlvandeberg857

    @@StevenMorrisPhotography That is a very good idea, I think it is just the clips that have to be a lower profile so as not to protrude as far into the body. I am yet to purchase a 3D printer, but one is one the wish list :)

    The video is of course older, maybe someone still needs a solution. I think here with it will also work in PHD... so far I have not tried it yet. I am normally used to the EQ6-R Pro... there the whole thing works via EQ Ascom. For me it didn't work with the GTI right away with the EQ Ascom, but only with your method Steven. Then I just updated the firmware of the GTI via the firmware loader from Skywatcher and it can now also be addressed via EQ Ascom, control etc... the parking position did not work for me before, with EQ Ascom it works. I am sure that it works with it also in PHD2. So just try a firmware update! CS Lars Greetings from Germany.

    Thanks for another excellent vid. I'm trying to replicate what you've done here. I'm using NINA, connected via USB. I've installed all the SynScan and ASCOM software. It appears it will only connect in NINA once the SynScan app has connected. NINA is recognising the mount, but using the arrow controls, the mount will only move north, not south, and east, not west (I can control it in every direction using the hand controller, so the mount is capable of moving). Any suggestions?

I have deleted that and installed the earlier 1.19.20 version and things are working better. I have it working with the laptop via WiFi, but it's still not cooperating using a USB cable.
