Avid Jeeper here.. I would even say that WAY less than 30% of all people who buy jeeps DO NOT actually really wheel. And for those people (less affectionately known as mall crawlers) the Rubicon is absolutely pointless - having front and rear lockers & swaybar disconnect when they might take their jeep on a basic fire trail to go camping maybe once a year… Most real off-roaders don’t buy a Rubicon‘s. They buy the cheapest base price Wrangler Sport knowing that they are going to replace the stock undercarriage and customize a new build with bigger tires, different gearing ratios, etc - which is what I did with my rig.. Sadly, people will pay the extra 7 or 8000 on the base price just for the name “Rubicon” on the sides of the hood. 🤷‍♂️

Let's be really real, after the 4 door was released, I bet it's under 5%. USA built it, the Germans couldn't destroy it, but now the Italians are doing a pretty good job at ruining it's good name. I'll stick with my 20 year old Tj, thanks. No a/c, no ABS, no electric windows, no CD player... No Problem! The real Jeeps were built to be the utilitarian work horses. You want comfort, get a Grand Cherokee. My, nearly 30 year old, Zj, is like a Cadillac compared to my Tj. $0.02.

@@ThSloth_InDaGetto serious question from a non jeep person. If someone is going to buy a jeep and replace the drive terrain with v8, Chevy axles and what not. Why not just buy the k5 or bronco?

@@mattballard6591, I believe you would have to be a jeep person to understand that. Just to be clear, I didn't and most Jeep owners, don't do any of that. Imo, the original Broncos were awesome. Although costly to get now. I started with an S10 blazer. Loved it, but most didn't survive the weak transmissions and rust. The full size SUVs, make better mud runners or expedition overlanders, than they do small trail rigs. There are places the Jeeps will fit, where the big trucks can't go. To own an old Jeep, you have to love the labor that goes into it too. I have had the privilege to drive many different types of vehicles, and there is nothing else like driving an open tub up a mountain. You should give it a try some time. You'll probably end up a Jeep person after all. Haha!

Depends on the vehicle in a jeep jl or jt i have a jt i know you can do 4 hi while moving with your foot of the accelerator under i think 45 mph and 4 lo in neutral at 1 to 3 mph and tjs yjs and cjs you have to do at a complete stop i don't know about jks i think the same as a jl. It's a good idea to not have the car in park or in gear when changing how the tires grip because your gonna cause problems or it just won't let you. Imagine having a system where you turn a key to start the car. No thanks, I'll stick to my crank start turn of the century automobile.

To a lot of people saying that, “let’s be real here, a lot of people that buy Jeeps don’t do serious off-road stuff” like man STFU. That’s like saying to another person why do they want to become a bodybuilder when you ain’t gonna use that body to lift heavy stuff in your everyday life and shows it off just for looks. Or why do people buy sports cars when they won’t even do drag and street races everyday and therefore not utilizing its potential as a sports car. Or why do people even buy fast foods to eat when they know themselves they are considered very unhealthy and literally will make them die earlier instead of eating home cooked foods sacrificing their health just for convenience? People can do whatever the hell they want in their lives. Whether they need it or want it. If they want a Jeep coz they like the way it looks, its fine. If they want it for the brand, its fine, if they simply want it because it is the only type of car that has removable doors and roofs, its fine. People be judging sh*t heavily nowadays that’s why this world is crumbling to pieces.

They don't, the jeep knows you're driving to Starbucks so it doesn't even shift the TC.
