HOW TO USE THE KUNG FU MARTIAL ARTS FIGHTING FAN | MATT PASQUINILLI

Check out this weapon I forgot I had! It was sitting in a box and picking it up brought back lots of fun memories of hours training with this fighting fan and demonstrations rocked and competitions won with this unique, versatile, and super fun “disguised” weapon!

I hate to be that person, but that’s called a Tessen, which literally means metal fan, although they’re made from materials such as wood, bamboo, and iron. You need to be careful if you buy one because a plastic fan isn’t strong enough to be a Tessen and while the fancy wooden ones are, you need to be careful about the paper ones. Especially if you practice Tessenjutsu, which is basically ninjutsu except based on fans. Anyone who’s seen Avatar the Last Air bender will hopefully understand this. It’s like the Kyoshi warriors ninjutsu. I’m sorry if this is already in the comments, I just know a few things about Japanese weapons. Have a nice weekend!

I wish they would try to make a necklace or neck wear out of them so that way anyone can conceal them and carry and pull them out anytime they like ❤thx I hope you like my idea friend and can you please try to make a necklace of these to kinda pop it out etc to utilize it or neckwear etc etc thx 🙏?and you could utilize smaller fans that people could place on their neck inside some kind of case maybe press a button to pop em out and click it back in or something. The fans would then sell like hot cakes brother

In plain english, you are making the movements "YOUR OWN." One question, "bamboo" fans...can you take them into a government building in the United states? Considering it can be used as a weapon. ( Ohio isn't any fun according to my Sifu, they would even declare a fork is a deadly weapon if it is used such). 😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋

I am not sure that it would be seen as a weapon or not as a weapon. It probably has a lot to do with how you would present it and so I could see it being taken away from you if you carried it as if it were a weapon and if it were just in a bag or something then it would seem to be just a fan. But I understand your question in your point I just don’t think that the answer is very black-and-white.

@@pasquinilliThanks for taking the time out to answer. I am going to use one for cooling myself off in the summers since I cannot take the hot summers in the middle of the United States anymore. I was put in the hospital in 2016' and almost died from diabetes.I kept ADDING work on way past what I could safely do. I had a blood sugar of 662 and was going to try to go back to work soon as I could. My wife and daughter said ..... "NO ! " and I was curious about the laws even though I hardly go into government buildings. And the way I present it is going to be fun, for I am a descendant of Robert the Bruce, first King of Scotland. He looked like a midevil biker, real scary 😋. And I look just like him! Soo I try to avoid government buildings ( even though I have the " heart of gold " as one of my other ancestors.) But in this day and age they profile you first 😟. I am looking forward to more videos, we need more people that know what they are doing with martial arts. ( I've seen enough "wanna bes"over the last 40 years.) HERE IS A GOOD ONE THAT MIGHT GIVE YOU A GOOD CHUCKLE....There are classic pictures of Chinese Kung Fu Masters looking so wise and sage like. My Sifu up to the 1980's, looked like the "laughing Budda" with "Bert and Ernie" hair. 😁😁 But you didn't try to back him into a corner, he would get out OVER you! 😵😵😵

Joe Poelmans haha. I get it. My instructors were Korean. The Koreans spread out throughout the world to teach to non Koreans. It’s why Taekwondo is so prolific. They were successful. But I understand your point, it’s like looking going to a Japanese steak house and all the hibachi chefs are not Japanese. They are just as good or better than their Japanese colleagues but not what you expected. When I took over my first school from a Korean twenty five years ago, I lost a lot of students because I wasn’t Korean. The guy I took over from was a lousy teacher and martial artist. He lied about his experience and rank and had one tenth of my experience and skill. The students who stayed eventually realized it and a lot of the old students came back. But I remember one student yelling at me because I wasn’t Korean. Thanks for explaining your comment!
