    Hi Melissa! I want to include pha toner into my skincare routine but I'm not sure whether I can use it together with my TO's ascorbyl glucoside solution 12% as it has vit c in it. If I can use it, should I use the pha toner bfore or after applying the ascorbyl glucoside? Or if not, do you have any recommendation which one should I use in my am routine and which one in my pm routine.

  • @MelissaVanDijkOfficial

    @MelissaVanDijkOfficial

    Hello Foods., You can use them together. The Ordinary Ascorbyl Glucoside solution is a Vitamin C derivative; therefore, it won't matter much. It has a high pH. I suggest using it after the PHA toner. Order of application is generally: Cleanser Toner/Exfoliant Serums/Booster Moisturizer SPF (Daytime)

  • @MelissaVanDijkOfficial

    @MelissaVanDijkOfficial

    9 ай бұрын

    Overall, whether you're a beginner or a pro, the reaction depends on your personal skin tolerance. This means that if your skin doesn't tolerate a specific acid well, you'll likely experience irritation. For dry skin, I'd recommend something like Paula's Choice Resist Anti-Aging 5% AHA Exfoliant. After that, yes, you could use the COSRX advanced dual essence. However, the all-in-one cream might not be the best choice for dry skin. I'd suggest considering an alternative, like the CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion. That said, the COSRX advanced dual essence might already be sufficient, but you'll need to test it to be sure!

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@Periodt No, that mainly depends on your skin type. Generally, dryer skin types should use another occlusive (Fatty, oily substance that can help to "seal" moisture) afterwards, which is very common in traditional moisturizers. But also, there are other "theories" online about the molecular size used, so it really depends on the overall formulation. The marketing is so confusing.😞 But you are OK to use the products independently, no need to have a whole routine. The easiest way is to test it and see how it goes :)

    Hey! :) What toner did you get? Glycolic Acid or PHA toner? Those are exfoliating acids toners where the frequency (how often you use it throughout the week) plays a significant role; otherwise, it can lead to irritation when using it too often. AM: - SA Cleanser - SPF PM: - Gentle Cleanser - Toner (start with 2-3 times per week and adjust it over time) - Hyaluronic Acid Serum - Moisturizer Also, since you are using an exfoliating acid toner, it would be best to use a non-exfoliating acid cleanser; otherwise, it may lead to dryness/irritation.
