if it's a "wifi" device, you need wifi ( unless it has an ethernet port ).

Yeah, I want to use it in AP mode and app requires access to my wifi router 😂😂😂 Piece of garbage...Niceboy Smartplug, but very same app.

you are not using 2 connections at once - you are relaying/tagging the device's connection to the gateway through your phone initial wifi connection ( make sure it's a 2.4 ghz connection).

every time i try to even connect to the hot spot it tells me to join back to a 2.4 GHz network

manually set the phone and the gateway to connect in 2.4 ghz mode during the setup ( after the setup is successful, reconnect the gateway and phone in 5 ghz mode if you want ). Most gatewaysand phones are on "auto" wifi connection mode and will select 5 ghz if signal is good.

some devices may flash quickly in AP mode. Hold the power/reset button for 10 seconds again and see if the light status changed.

How do I know the password for smartlife-xxx wifi?

Mine wasn't work like in video, it should be in constantly light no blinking then was all ok. Eather way thnk for video it's help a lot

make sure your gateway ( router or modem) and your phone/tablet/computer is connected in 2.4 ghz wifi mode.

not working on android. i try on my android phone, my phone can connect both cellular data & wifi simultaneously but smartlife wifi is disconnected automatically when pairing process start

Do either of you know how to get it to pair via Bluetooth only? I bought the Bluetooth version not the wifi one. the directions to reset it to pairing mode are the same for the wifi version, yet there's no remote for the Bluetooth and it's not blinking at all so no connection to my Bluetooth.

Disable phone data connection during setup. Once setup is sucessful, re-enable data connection on the phone.

There is no way I can connect my cctv to more than one phone. I recommend that you shouldn't buy anythere uses Tuya if you want that
