DON'T use the Tuya Integration - get your devices off the cloud with Local Tuya
Looking at integrating tuya devices into Home Assistant. Using both the standard tuya integration, and the local tuya integration.
Local Tuya integration removes the need for internet access and cloud polling to control your devices, making it more secure, reliable, and fast.

Is anyone using this integration with bulbs that are also controlled by the Adaptive Lighting integration? I tried this some months back, but the bulbs seemed to never report their state back correctly, so adapting was inconsistent.

Hi, thank you for your video. What do I get with Lucal Tuya? because I can't remove it from the SmartLife app, if do, it's turned off in HA, and if I don't have Internet access I can operate directly, this is, I can turn the lights on and off by pressing the switch directly.

Hi, is there any way to integrate tuya devices so they can be controlled via a xiaomi hub? I have my xiaomi system with light level sensor and want to trigger my tuya smart wifi breaker which sits on my LAN, but I can’t find a way to set up conditional logic to switch the tuya based on the lux level measured by the xiaomi sensor. The xiaomi hub integrates with Apple HomeKit, but the tuya doesn’t. Both can be added to Google home, but it lacks the ability to set a rule to trigger one from the other. I have no home assistant, so just need an app which will work. I looked at Yeti app but it seems to be withdrawn.
My HA is ready, I only have one problem. I have several WiFi window contacts in use in my smart home, which are integrated via the Smart Life app. So they all work very well via the app and with Alexa etc. only in the HA I don't get them integrated. I read all sorts of things, but unfortunately couldn't find a solution for it. Do you have any idea how to do that? MfG Alex

hello from the future..is there a local tuya for android? Or any non cloud app, that works locally?
Opened a developer account but then they ask to verify my identity and open a ticket when I start a project from the cloud icon... looks as if GOC has introduced controls...
I am doing the mentioned steps for 3 energy meter switches (SP111 and DDS238-2 WIFI) and in results for each only 1 switch and entity are added so I have only the ability to turn on/off the device but no energy consumption information. Something is wrong here... I've repeated all of the steps a couple times with same result also after removing integration.... :( Any tips ?
Thx for the great instructions video! However, I noticed my Gosund EP2 (V1.0.4) Smart-Plugs won't update their power/current/voltage values when I prevent them from connecting to the cloud. I can still connect to them with local tuya and switch them on/off, but the power/current/voltage values they report get static as soon as I disable the cloud (block internet access via my router) and stay zero when I power-cycle the plug. As soon as I let them connect to the cloud again, the power/current/voltage values are available again. Anyone else noticed this? That's really a bummer :/
I have problem in step : Add Tuya device. when i press submit, there is the following message : "Connection to device succeeded but no datapoints found, please try again. Create a new issue and include debug logs if problem persists." Please help me, i'm using IR and RF - Infrared Device Control Center, I have set up to control the device successfully but don't add to HASS.
That's nice but will it work on video doorbells and security cameras?
And idea how often you have to refresh the device key?

Just set up Local Tuya yesterday. It works so much better than the Tuya integration. Couldn't control my rgb bulbs or my fan controls from the tuya integration. With local tuya I can control the rgb bulbs with effects that weren't normally there and all my fans work with the exception when I switch to high my fan turns off. Gotta dig back through the options and figure that out. In my opinion, if you're scared to flash a device then Local Tuya is where it's at. I will be attempting my first wired firmware flash with tasmota this weekend on some treatlife single pull switches. I also have two of them running with Local Tuya so I'll be able to compare.

Unfortunately, this solution does not remove the cloud dependency. After registering the device via Local Tuya in HA, I tried to remove it from Smart Life app which also deactivated device in HA. When I did the device registration again (via Smart Life), device received new Device ID as well as new Local Key which were different from the old ones. New registration in HA was needed after that. Means, the device is cloud dependend and can't be isolated to local HA only (or at least I didn't find a way how to make it really just and only local device)

It's a Wi-Fi contact sensor. Unknown error occurs.
I generally like your videos but I feel this one lacks a bit of research... the options you get when integrating a device are the pins for each of the functionalities, in your example, your switch was off at the moment of integrating it, hence the False and the value was coming out of pin 1. Your particular switch didn’t have power monitoring so there are no extra pins where to get the current and consumption from (which are the extra 3 drop downs). Also, the last step is not to add an extra device but to create a new entity from the same device. For instance, a separate sensor for the voltage (although this can also be done with a template in HA).

Generally I would prefer the local instance. I'm just little concerned about integrating all appliances using developer account(again cloud) which terms and conditions can change anytime. Also, statement that local tuya is more reliable seem incorrect to me. One of cloud key concepts is the reliability due to distributed processing. I can't see how single local instance of tuya, using single ISP and probably controller and power source to run it is more reliable. More controllable and traceable, sure. Faster, probably. Reliable with all those single points of failures not really to me. I'm using cloud at the moment but was thinking about getting some local instance running. Getting some home controller to which you could connect directly over internet would be nice.
Local Tuya is almost perfect except the situation that after HA restart some devices randomly going into zombie state (for HA they are unavailable but from Tuya app everything is ok, the same devices are ok even in HA via stand Tuya integration). Anyone had the same issues?

@@rishabMehta7 Thanks for that, I'll give it another look. I did buy some "pre flashed" tasmota plugs and they work really well when it comes to displaying power.

The Tuya web interface has changed. Try to navigate to Cloud menu - API explorer - General Device management - Get device information - fill "device id" - Look for "Local Key" in the section "Response" Under submenu "General Device management" there is also "Get the device information" section but that does not include Local Key info. Use the section without "the".

Im getting after installing the plugin "msg": "permission deny",
Is local tuya free. Now Tuya has started a subscription for Tuya developer projects.
Wtf! There's no projects option under cloud like in video. There is a creative cloud project option but you must select a "data center" when you try to scan the qr code you get an error that you cant link data center accounts..I'm going nuts with this runaround on their website
So...To create a new project with Tuya you need to be "verified" by Tuya 1) logged into tuya website 2) added cellphone # to account settings 3) found Clinet ID number in Tuya app Account settings (called Client ID) 4) went to website and clicked "verify" in settings 5) entered my phone number / name / ID number 6-10) failed over and over and over again
