How to use Sony camera generated proxies in Final Cut Pro for same day edits
If you ever had to complete a same-day edit with a computer that lags when editing 4K video files, this video is for you.
Here are 4K & Proxies from my a6400 and FX3 for you to compare. In the video, I said I would link to my A7Siii files but I just used the FX3 since it's basically the same camera in terms of quality.

You literally just changed my entire LIFE!!!!!! Editing was becoming such a chore trying to go through the process of converting 4k files to proxy files. This just changed the game for me. Now I'll never dread the editing process. I changed the setting in both my cameras to record both file types from here on out. Thank you SOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH for this!! Oh my goodness. I just have had an absolute nightmare editing now and this would have saved me so much time. Just changed my camera settings - thank you SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO!!

Great breakdown, audio handle users have to be aware of one thing: Sony generated proxies have stereo audio, where full res files can have up to four. If you use 4 channel audio FCPX won't be able to connect them. Sadly.
