    Don't buy it! Make it! It's real easy and much much cheaper! Take baking soda and bake it in your oven for one hour at 200° let cool and bam, soda ash!

    Super helpful and right to the point with the most important information. Helpful to know I can save my soda ash wash/soak in a sealed container. My son, age 10, has started making and selling his creations.

    It's very easy to make soda ash yourself. Sodium bicarbonate is easily accessible and that's all you need. Get some and cook it in the oven for an hour at around 175c. Baking soda can also be used but keep in mind it usually has some corn starch added to it, so while it could work for this purpose, pure bicarbonate is better.

    Hello, I'm new to dyeing and still learning by reading and watching a lot of KZread tutorials. I want to ask. Do you wring out or spin and soak it in dye directly or do you sun dry it first? Do you mordant it with with either alum or soy milk first or do this fixation with soda ash solution first? I assume you need to skip this if you dye with pH sensitive dye like with black bean and vinegar solution. Is that right? Thank you.

    Since salt is for natural fiber and vinegar is for not natural fiber, should I use both since I want to dye NEW white bedsheets in which the material is 60% cotton and 40% polyester?!

    I think you need to bake it in the oven to change the molecules to be correct. I haven’t done it before so I’m not sure how to say that properly. 😆

    Can you put soda ash I to the bottles of dye mixure? I believe I read the Tulip brand has soda ash in their dye. What's your experience?

  • @cannabinerd9665

    @cannabinerd9665

    You can. The issue is that once you mix soda ash into dye it will only be good for hours. If you're planning on using your dye right away that doesn't matter. If you don't mix soda ash into it the dye will be good for days and then slowly lose effectiveness.
