NOOOOOO MY BROTHA!!!! It is sooooooooooooo easy and straight forward! I'm def a 100% old school vinyl guy too when I started What are you getting hung up on? There are def a few settings you need to figure out to make it "your own" But not many at all, and its truly plug and play right out the box Once you setup your crates (Imagine every single crate you make is truly a record crate) Put the tracks you want in each crate, sort it the way you like, And than just the tracks in ! Start slow and if you have any questions do not hesitate to reach out bro!! Good luck!!

Same here. Vinyl since 98’ You’ll be fine! The learning curve is fast! I learned it years ago using Serato control records and 1200s. It was a nice bridge going full digital.

I honestly could never imagine going back, (like to records) Serato is just such a game changer I was talking with a friend about an all in 1 unit, and I remember theres no sampler or anything, He has to program in the sames to cue pts or something, Whatever he said, just seems like so much extra work. At this point I've said it time and time again, It's not even the controller or anything, The most important piece of my gear is the laptop. Serato is everything for me

"enable play count" has a huge impact on PC's performance, Sometimes even with serato's software stability. Specially if you are streaming and have alot of other apps opened as well. Basically is WRITING LIVE on your hdd/ssd, the song you have playing atm. That together with with 1ms-2ms buffer can create stutters and eventual crashes. My advice keep it if serato is only one app running, disable if if you have many apps that run at same time.

That's interesting! Never have had an issue at all with playcount, let alone serato stability, I usually am running a stream, recording, serato, and 100 google tabs open, and don't have crashes But good to know about play count!

I don't have a Rane one unfortunately But all controllers are essentially the same Different buttons, but serato is always the "head unit" I'd learn serato first and than worry about the controller Any button can be re mapped too To another function if you like it better But let's go fam!!!!!! They have an option that will change and remove colours based on stems / eq You can't manually change them tho ? Is that what you mean

My horizontal view has a more condensed view of the wave forms, about 2 bars worth. But in your video, it looks like you can see about 4 bars worth of the waveform. Is this a setting I can change? Or this due to the size of your monitor/laptop screen?

Hi buddy! when you press files the screen divedes in 2 screens and there is this 3 dots on bottom that makes bigger or smaller by mistake i opened so mush that i lost those dots. how can i make it smaller again?

That shouldn't be possible, it should stop well before you can pull files down too far. It stays this way when you restart the program? You might just have the change the resolution on your screen, Make the resoultion smaller, fix the windows, and than change the resolution back if need be! Let me know how that works out

9:17 pm - Very helpful but my issue totally frustrating. Serato doesn't see all my music files. I even bought a new external hard drive and copied files over to it. There is 5000 songs there and it only shows 7 files. If I would've known that Serato didn't have a live customer service I wouldn't have purchased it. You have to email them and then wait weeks for a response. Can you help me? I'm so frustrated that I'm ready to throw everything in the trash. I have gigs coming up and I have coming up no music. It shows up in the file folders on my computer but not on Serato. HELP🤬

Hey brother!! Would need a little bit more info, The hard drive is loaded with music? And when you plug it in you can only pick one song? have you created your crates yet? You should be able to play a song on both sides, but only 1 at a time

@@vpowerelectrix998 for beat markets and cues and stuff, and colour of the track, Click the box that is the colour, Just to the left of the cue I think without being on the computer But for waveform I think it's RGB always, I could be wrong It's super helpful tho, At a glave you can see if there's something wrong with the track, Eq is out of wack

I’m not a beginner. But I wanted to get a fresh look at Serato. If I were a beginner this would be frustrating for me. The number of features you pass over as ‘just do this’ and others where you don’t even describe them. You just say ‘I have other videos’. It would be minimal to just describe them for the beginner who has not seen other videos. That’s the point of a ‘beginner’ video

hahahahha VERY POSSIBLE!!! The story I was always told, is he hated people scoping his screen, so they created an easter egg for him It was enabled by using Alt + M, so that would come up with the "am mode" as well, I guess we're going to have to get serato on to finally tell us the real story!

I have music and I have iTunes and a subscription . When I’m in serato I’m not sure how to get it on the laptop to play it. I wouldn't ever recommend getting a cell phone dj setup When you put money down and go all in, you make things happen If you want the lowest setup, you won't care about it

Other programs are just as simple with more features and cross platform capabilities. Serato is old af. There’s bigger and badder. @@Antonio18677 ohhhhhhhhhhhh, nah bro sorry. You need gear to use serato I'm pretty sure you can play around with virtual DJ without any gear? Thats literally how I started DJing! But bought gear basically right away

Serato has crashed with me a number of times.

@@TheDJConnect it crashed with me on my Macs and froze on me with windows. All my music are from pools and cd rips. The problem with serato from my observation is that it's simply heavy on computer resources and generates a lot of heat so over a period of time that can lead to problems.... and it has with many. There are vids that show this to be a fact. There are bugs in all earlier versions and we know cause with every update they mention 'bug fixes'. They won't tell u the present versions hv bugs too until it's fixed. The last thing it has done with a friend of mine who had a well specced laptop was the delay in the waveforms not showing on the screen as fast as the tracks were moving which resulted in no audio from the song when the visible part of the waves passed the centered wave marker.

As a beginner there was way too much stuff that got glossed over. I dont think this is a super beginner friendly video - yeah this is just flips, this is just smart crates, this is just the slip feature... right.. none of that means anything at all to a beginner.. 😑

@@TheDJConnect it's hard to know what to cover I suppose when you have a lot of knowledge already. I'm totally unfamiliar with this stuff. Did a lot of turntablist type stuff about 20yrs ago (with vinyl obv) and am just looking at getting back into it but honestly man the tech now and the options available are both incredible and totally mind boggling

@@milkflavour82 that's sick !!!!! So if you have remotely any skills, this will be a breeze man ! You'll learn stuff as you grow, but if you have a turntablisit base you'll kill it. The Rane one is nice, def the "smoothest" moving platter Maybe pick one function and learn it at a time But honestly of the 8000 features you could use, I just use like hot cue, echo, and stems I don't really use any of the other functions live

@@TheDJConnect awesome man! Glad it was helpful.. yeah I was checking out the Rane 1. I'm sort of torn between Rane 1, Rane 4 and Rev 7. I feel like Rane 4 has the features BUT no spinning platters. I think the Rev is probably a bit ahead of both of them but I'm not sure it's 500 quid ahead of them (which is about the difference in cost). Feel like I'm leaning to Rane 1 at the mo.. just can't get my head around scratching a static platter 🤔

All these non stop talking how to videos are no good to us. Do a very detailed step by step how to video, I am having the hardest time trying to learn how to use this program. I can see my music but it will not let me drag and drop it to the top, I need to open my music folder and drag and drop from there. I only want to use my music from my folder NEVER will I have the need to use the other features. DJ Pro free trial is up for me but can I still use the program or should I switch over to DJ Lite

Slip mode allows you to manipulate the platter at you want , and have the playback go right back to the position it should have been at....... Not sure why I would even answer that to someone so rude, But you're welcome

@@TheDJConnect I think u may not be aware of the capabilities of vdj to make that statement. In fact all other dj software hv a pitch n time feature included in their software by default. I guess u feel better knowing u paid extra for that feature.

All they do is provide playlists that they like From what I've seen, none of that would work in my market and events Crates are super personal, your style is entirely personal Crates to me have to be personal or you'll loose your own flavour
