    If I have my RGB led light strip connected to the original remote it came with so it can still change to any colour…..but I wanted a separate section to be a solid blue…. could I solder the additional section to just the power connection and the “blue” connection or would it affect the first section of the strip (colour changing section)

    Bro I have a dimmer controller with 3 wires and the connections on my led strip are just 2. I understand that the 3rd wire on dimmer is the data wire but since I can't connect it to anything (led strip has only 2 connections), should I cut it or leave it as it is on the dimmer?

    Whats the device you’re using at 1:54 to provide power? Not the voltage booster. USB drive? Is this still possible without this? I want to do this exact same set up, splice tapping into my door for my challenger but I’m not sure it’ll work since I don’t have that device you’re using. Let me know. Thanks. 😎

    Sorry for the late reply, The power was being supplied through USB. If you're doing this in your car, you should be able to wire the led directly to the existing light socket, since it should be 12v. I'd test with a multimeter just to make sure, I did something similar once but the light socket I used was only supplying 5v for some reason so the LEDs were really dim.

    The thing about soldering I did not get, when I was a kid trying to Solder, you need solder on the iron to conduct heat, or you may be there for ever because the iron isn't making enough contact to melt the solder on the wire or what ever you are soldering.. it works a million times better with solder on the iron!!

  • @CF-Builds

    @CF-Builds

    2 жыл бұрын

    Without doing any research, I'd say it probably works better that way because when you touch the tip of the iron to a solder joint it's actually only touching a miniscule part of the joint, but when you have a ball of molten solder on the tip it conforms to the shape of the joint, thus covering more surface area and transferring heat faster and more efficiently.

    First of all thanks for this video, second, you know that this rbg LEDs strips make white with all the LEDs turned on. If I just want a white color, can I just solder a tin perpendicular line touching Red, Green, Blue terminals and solder 1 cable to that line and put that cable on the ground and the positive that will be separated to the 12v?

    I HAD HIGH HOPES, BEING ON DAY THREE OF THE SAME PROBLEM.... BUT, THAT'S NOT THE FAULT OF YOU OR YOUR VIDEO, KUDOS BTW, NICELY DONE... As goes the norm for my eccentric personality ( I treat people how I want to be treated! I'm sure you're familiar; you know, do unto others and all that shit..... I know, I'ma weirdo ~ lol ) ~ Like I was saying, the only thing I would critique would be your choice to solder the wires on top of the adjustable charger board, instead of through the holes.... and your verbalized adjustment instruction, it's backwards... Its been, in my experience ( I could indeed be wrong, lmao... so DON'T get butt hurt ) However, when adjusting the potentiometer, clockwise is down in voltage and CCW is up in voltage..... BOTH OF WHICH ARE INCREDIBLY MINOR IN THEIR OVER-ALL PLAY WITH-IN THE BIG PICTURE OR SCOPE OF YOUR VIDEO... However, if it were mine, I'd appreciate such a heads up... but... I do tend to be more anal than most, when it comes to details...LOL... sO PleAse, I'm Not Trolling... Just a friendly heads up bro... My issue is indeed that of a control problem by nature... and at the end, you're all, " there's no control feature with this method but... " At which point, my sails went limp... ha ha ha... but it was still a good presentation and so, here I be... If'n by chance you know how to fix my issue, I'd love to hear whatcha got for an idea... Because, like I said, I'm on day three and ( add your own run-on sentence, comprised of nothing but, 4 letter words ( of your choosing ) loud enough for the neighbors to notice, [enter here] ) GDMFSOB! LMAO! Here's my issue: I'm using two, 5volt, 8 foot rgb cob led rope lights & they do everything EXCEPT hold a solid color..... They'll do patterns, breath, dance and even flash their t i t s at you if you want but, I just want a solid white light... and the closest I can get is a solid, BREATHING, bright white and it's annoying as all get out! Thanks in advance to anyone who can help! So far, I've tried: 1. swapping the controller ( leds stop working - re-installed original control, lights work again, same issue, no solid color ) 2. manual bump control change via short ( no effect ) 3. used a half dozen remotes from other kits ( no help ) Next up: I'ma remove the original controller and add another power supply with an additional 3 volts and then install a rheostat between it and the leds... lol, my hopes are not high for this experiment... God bless us all
