How to Use Ratchet Straps and Cam Buckle Straps - Beginner's Guide
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Watch US Cargo Control explain the differences between ratchet straps and cam buckle straps, how to tighten the tie down straps, and how to release them. When threading a ratchet strap or cam strap, you'll notice the tightening method is different - a ratchet tie down strap is tighter and stronger with a ratcheting mechanism, but a cam buckle tie down is easier to use by simply pulling the loose strap end until it’s tight.
We recommend using ratchet straps for heavy-duty or oversized loads (think, truck drivers to use on flatbeds or enclosed trailers), and cam straps for lighter or smaller tie down jobs (to secure a kayak on a truck bed, recreational vehicles, or for fragile cargo). You shouldn't use ratchet straps on a smaller load as it can be overkill, when a cam buckle strap provides sufficient strength and holding power.

Thank you so much!!! Quick, clear and simple.
What an awesome video. Simple and straightforward.
Very informative on ratchet straps as how to thread. Music is a nice touch, thanks.
Helpful with easy to follow instructions and perfect visuals. Thanks : )
Thanks !
Motorcycle tie-downs are typically cam buckles which work well if you compress the forks a little while tightening.
Thanks

Very nice, informative
The music gets in the way of the presentation. It would be helpful if it faded out when he started talking.
Here's my frustration. Open hooks refuse to hold on to the ring they're attached to unless they're under tension. This is hard to do with one person when you have to walk to the other side of a trailer and thread the strap through the handle. I haven't found a store that carries ratchet straps with snap hooks and had to go online to find & get them. Has anyone come up with a simple hack for easily & quickly modifying an open "S" or "J" hook to stay on its attachment point until pressure can be applied?

"rhino" ratchet straps
Hi I’m looking to use a mini Ratchet buckle or a cam buckle to hang punch bags. Will the cam buckle be strong enough and not let the strap slide out once the bag is being punched? The punch bag will weigh no more than 100kg. Thank you in advance
Cam buckle is not great for everything but perfect for endless type to strap things together like a package strapping does, ratchet is the best for all things.
why on earth would you have music playing over what you are saying

Where can I get this cd....
Bit of an odd way you threaded the strap with the rachet half open i would always close a rachet and feed the strap through from the rear to the front on one move
Can you pick something up with it? I mean i know it is to pick things up, but can you show us?

Hi Izri1, Ratchet Straps and Cam Buckles are actually used to secure product, not to lift. It is commonly used to tie down products on a flat bed semi trailer or similar applications. To lift products, you would want to use a lifting sling. You can check out our lifting slings by visiting www.uscargocontrol.com/Lifting-Slings . Thanks!
How do I un lose it

To unratchet the strap, all you need to do is open the ratchet until it is flat, in the open position. Then just pull the strap back out of the mandrel. Skip to 1:28 in the video and you can see it being demonstrated.

Cut the music out! Sooooo annoying
7 years of that obnoxious music! Why would you do that on a video where we are trying to hear the instructions?
Visually this is great, but the music is totally unnecessary. I am at work and not need this blaring music.
Shot the fucking music
The music is awful
The ratchet strap instructions were helpful. But LOSE THE NOXIOUS "MUSIC" so we can hear the nice man talking.
Thanks!
