Probably one of the least used, best kept secrets of Anime Studio is the EXTREMELY powerful physics engine that can be used to create animations! This tutorial just covers the basics of physics but only scratches the surface of what you can to with it!
You can create crumbling buildings, breaking glass, destructible environments and debris, impact objects like bowling pins, rag doll characters... the list of possibilities goes on and on!
It isn't used a lot from what I've seen but hopefully those of you who see this find this useful and start using it more and more! It is extremely fun to play around with and with the right imagination could be really useful in practical animations!

    Good stuff. Not sure if you know but with that many layers the "Layer Selector Tool" next to the "Text Tool" is you best friend. Just click on the layer and it'll take you directly to that layer.

    Another helpful tutorial. I see in your second part you've removed the lines. I don't know if I missed it, but it's worth pointing out that physics does not account for or use line widths - that's why your objects are moving down when you play, and why you found it hard to stack them. Also @12:17 you needed to click the apply button :P

    What are your thoughts on using tablet/stylus vs mouse? I'm considering a Cintiq style device, where you draw on the screen. It seems like that would be best for rapid artwork creation, whereas a mouse/kb is still best for animating.

    Does physics work with character bone rigs like ragdolls?

  • @Poptoogi

    @Poptoogi

    Yes and no. I've seen some examples of characters being rag dolled and it looks great but if all the bones aren't connected then some parts can break. It's possible though.

    Can you do bounce/squash stretch actions in conjunction with the falling objects?

  • @Poptoogi

    @Poptoogi

    8 жыл бұрын

    +Psynema Hi Psynema, I don't think you can because when you use physics in this way it generates keyframes for every single frame. And with having to animate each and every single frame to create a squash stretch action it would be extremely time consuming!

    Hey I'm having trouble with my target bones ....they don't seem to lock in place when I move my character with the main hip bone....it doesn't lock to the character when I move it around....if I make a jump motion and land, the character goes straight through my target, which is what I thought it wouldn't do because they're target bones.....any suggestions ???

  • @Poptoogi

    @Poptoogi

    3 жыл бұрын

    I'm not sure what you mean cool dude. If you man squash and stretch objects in a particle group you can't really do that. You can animate an object that is squashing and stretching and then put it in a particle layer but you don't have any real control on how and when it happens for each particle. What exactly were you thinking of? I just wanted to know what you were thinking of creating.
