How to use old maps to find and then hunt home sites (start to finish)

Let's walk through the process of finding sites to hunt from old maps all the way through identification, permissions, expectations, and getting onto the land to see what's there. Here I give a full tutorial showing the process of finding a site to hunt, then we take the Nokta Legend to see what they left behind!

Hello nice video and good to see another legend user out there digging I've had mine since they released them and I love it. Historic Aerials is my main go to for searching areas I detect and my advice is also use it for searching the parks you plan to detect I have found where there was old places that use to be within the park, I found one I'm going to tomorrow that looks like was an old farm house on the back side away from the tot lots and ball fields but still inside the park. So anyways just a tip check any area you plan to detect for history it could pay off.

I think that screw in handle looking items is off of an old floor style ash tray. They would pick up the ash trya and set it beside a chair while they read the paper or watched TV.

Ha! If you live near this... I'm right down that big hill to the east of you. I'd love to do a little detecting together if you're interested. My detecting buddy passed a couple years ago. Fellow Legend swinger too. I have it and an AT Pro.

Thanks for showing how to use Historic Aerials! I was just on that website earlier today, trying to figure it out. What part of Oklahoma are you in? We have Family north of OKC. God bless!
