TB4 isn’t that much better than TB3.. it’s negligible. In saying that though there isn’t any valid reason why TB4 shouldn’t have been used in the first place.

I got a m2 MacBook Air midnight 2 weeks ago, I upgraded from a 2019 intel MacBook Air

I love the space grey but will wait another year when Apple up grades the new Air ...the base getting 16 G and 512 Hard drive not going to spend $1200 on current one :( Will keep my Intel 20118 Air another year!!!

3:34 hey is it normal that my new MBA with M2 is consuming storage (type swap memory but without affecting the RAM) even without having installed anything? (especially in the "system data" and "macOS" section, which would be like the total weight of the entire OS) in 1 week it increased approx 15 GB (on August 26 when I turned it on for the first time it had 215 GB available and just as I write this there are already 198 GB left) aspect which causes me a lot of concern because in my old air from 2017 everything was perfect Could it be that I am doing some movement/configuration wrong regarding my icloud and/or automatic backup? (upgraded from 5 GB free plan to 50 GB that same day) PS: my old MBA (128 GB - 8 GB RAM) I still have it logged in (but I don't use it anymore) do you think I need to forcefully erase everything and leave it factory so that my current M2 (256/8) no longer works? have that problem or is it more related to monterey 12.4? your knowledge and answer will help me a lot (it would also be very helpful if you make a related video about it)

this happened to my sister, her phone and mac are both signed in the same icloud and the mac auto backed up her iphone. it took up 35gb from her storage. i’m not sure what ur problem is but this might be it! u can see from the storage in settings what’s used

I had massive problems with storage (particularly system data)and ended up with less storage than my 7 year old MacBook Pro. After spending hours with apple support, it was eventually sorted. I had to erase and start again. I have a sneaky feeling that it may have been a glitch on Ventura. I was prompted to download on the M2 and did so , when everything was reinstalled the advisor said not to put Ventura back on. Coincidence - who knows, I'm not savvy enough to know about these things but all is good now.

I just ordered a 8GB and 1TB SSD 15” MacBook Air, that will be sufficient for college right (regarding storage)? That’s the whole purpose of purchasing it.

It depends on what you plan on storing. If its going to be mainly documents and some pictures and videos, it likely will be fine. However, if you plan on taking a lot of pictures (thousands) or saving a lot of video, you will likely run out of space quickly. In that case, you likely will be better off buying an external hard drive or NAS to store that data.

Will it charge faster if we connect all the ports with chargers?

It will not, it should default to the most powerful connection.

I’m not being funny, but I’d rather spend the extra money and buy a good quality charger from Apple rather then from third parties 8:13
