Guys, There are three grips used in the heart shaped swing. Your demo shows what is commonly known as the knob swinging grip, which is incorrect and will impede the benefits that Indian Clubs have to offer. Also regarding the first straight arm circle you demonstrated, this movement should involve a transverse turn of the upper body, including eyeballing the club when it passes your shoulder level behind you. I'm surprised that you did not mention correct breathing, breathe in as the clubs are overhead and out when the clubs pass your feet.

Hi guys. Despite all the comments. Good on you for bringing some attention to this fabulous form of training. To get ANYONE started there is a company in Denmark that have invented the “Pahlavandle” The warriors modern day handle that screws on a soda pop bottle. Fully scalable and travel anywhere equipment. The wood has its charm but getting people started is what is going to push this form of training to the new Trend that it deserves. Keep swingin’

Mind Pump. sorry for this feedback. I am from India. There are very basic beginner movements which have not been covered. Some movements in the video demo are prone to injuries. There are already videos made by actual practitioners on you tube. The Indian club is locally called "Mugdar" If you don't find the videos, I can forward the links

So from what I know, and I could be wrong, the ones that are usually used for the push out and rotate position are usually 10 - 20 pounds and going from there slightly heavier as time goes on. I could be wrong, but I am just telling you what the wrestlers have used from where I come in India, they could have been taking the mickey out of me for all I know lol, but they used it as a means to tone their muscles and warmup their muscles or cooldowns as well. Also when they pushed the clubs out, they did not extend it out completely way from the body like they were throwing it away, as doing so would lock up the elbow joint and cause some severe injuries if not done properly, what they used to do was minimize the strain on the joints and focus it mainly on the muscles so a much more compact swing. Ergo you bring it over your back and instead of launching it completely, u launch it away from you head almost 60% of what is shown in the video and bring it down before going with the next club, this is done to make sure u don't injure your joints, then again if you are working with light weights like 2 to 5 pounds, it shouldn't be much of an issue but if you decide to use the heavier weights like those wrestlers, I highly recommend seeking advice first and then getting to it. The gains are definitely great and it does help in mobility as it was originally an exercise whose target was towards improving the fluidity of motion via strengthening muscle and perfecting power and strength in one go. Great video still, I like the effort and will definitely be getting myself the lighter end clubs and try what you did as well prior to a workout. Cheers!

First off, let me say that i fully support this channel and recommend it to many others as well. The information is always comprehensive and thorough, as you guys intend it to be. However, Im not sure which one of you replied to Paul and Martin, but for fuck sake drop the ego and realise that its ok to be wrong, that we all make mistakes and don't always know as much as other professionals in the field, especially experts in the field of indian clubs. Your smart ass demeanour in your replies only shows your insecurities. Paul has dedicated many years to learning the history, culture, and proper techniques of indian clubs. So here is my "corrective criticism". Go watch Pauls video titled "INDIAN CLUBS- Knob swinging and why you should avoid it" its in-depth and offers all the advice that you need to know.

I responded exactly how you are describing and deleted Adams comment before treading this one. This is Justin by the way

Serving it Cold prove to me India was the original house of Zourkharen bc historically this WAS a Persian thing and still is a Persian thing. Prove to me or I’ll destroy you by pasting pages of historical document about Persian origin of this. Hate jerks like you. Have some RESPECT for FACTS. Everything persian has been either going to Greeks or Arabs. Now I find out out uh, India too is another thief. How’s raping Persia working out for you guys? Feels good? I mean is there any nation that has been raped like Persia? Ever? I don’t think such a nation exist.

Serving it Cold literally from Wikipedia page re Indian mills “ Despite their common English name implying an Indian origin, the so-called Indian clubs were in fact created in the Persia. Properly referred to as mils (Persian: میل‎, translit. mil),[1] they are first recorded as being used by wrestlers in ancient Persia. The practice has continued to the present day, notably in the varzesh-e bastani tradition practiced in the zurkaneh of Iran. From Persia, the Mughals brought mils to India where they are still used by pehlwan (wrestlers) in India today. British colonists first came across mils in India, and erroneously referred to them as "Indian clubs" despite their Persian origin.” Done. Now get lost.

Serving it Cold same w fucking German historians that called everything written in Arabic by Persians which was 99% of everything contributed to the world in every god damn field during Islamic golden age to the Arabs. And everything else sorta went to Greeks or Romans especially re origins of Christianity which was also seriously shaped by Persians and their Mithraism. Even stuff Greek philosophers had gotten from Persians and had even said they had like the concepts of “ 4 elements” etc. damn Rapists of history. Everywhere.
