Thanks for showing snipe bill planes in action. 20 years ago I bought a secondhand half set of hollows & rounds, and it included a pair of snipe bill planes that I could not see any use for. Now your video has clearly explained when and how to use them.

Hello, I recently discovered the fabulous world of hollow and round planes, but it has draw attention to me that you do not put a bevel aside on the blade cut in large planes. So I would like to know the utility of that bezel, if it was made as an ornament or reinforcement on the block of wood or has a sliding utility by the others manufacturers. I mean your entire collection of hollow & round plans. Thanks in advance.

Hi Valdo I think that part you are talking about on the older style Hollows and Rounds was for reinforcement to keep the body of the plane in straight alignment. With the wood we use we don't think it is necessary as the woods we use are very stable and stay straight with out it. Our style allows the shaving to naturally curl out of the plane which minimises the shaving getting jammed in the plane body. Hope I have answered your question. Regards Terry
