    Great ideas! I have a lot of hemp seeds in my fridge that I need to use up! If you want to make the salad last longer, you can keep the dressing on the side and just put it on with each serving.

    great video - I have only recently started using hemp seeds and am using it in a stir fry type family favorite that originally used rice and I was keen to replace the rice with hemp seed as it has a wild rice type texture. I saw somewhere someone cooking the hemp see hearts in the microwave and I was microwaving the hemp seed hearts as I had the mindset that it had to be cooked like rice but now realize I should just add the hemp seed hearts uncooked directly in the stir fry and this further simplifies the dish, Unlike rice which expands when cooked hemp seeds don't expand but now I don't need to cook them anymore and can use them uncooked as is. Brilliant

Can I use all oats in place of the quinoa flakes? I don’t have any and would like to make these today. Thanks so much. Have a great day.

    I've watched all of your videos where you show us recipes that use a specific ingredient. I really like them and would love to see more of them. I hope to see more recipes where you show us ways to use seeds. I suggest that you devote a video to chia seeds and a video to flaxseeds. That would be very helpful!

    I make a coffee smoothie with cold coffee or cold brew, frozen banana, nut butter like almond butter, cacao powder, hemp hearts, almond or coconut milk, sometimes maca powder, some ice, sometimes i will add some maple syrup and I blend it up in my Vitamix. Voila!!! It tastes amazing! But also I just love adding hemp hearts/seeds because they give a nice boost of protein and energy when I do add hemp to my smoothies.

    question about hemp seeds. I understand they have a 1 to 4 ratio of Omega-3 to omega-6 which is deemed to be beneficial. My concern is with the high percentage of polyunsaturated fats which for hemp seeds is at about 75% of the hemp oil. From what I've read polyunsaturated fats can become easily oxidised in the body which is usually not good... is this correct from what you have read? If so does this not apply to hemp seeds? Would you be able to tell me more about this as it can affect us all?

Again, just kidding 😘 Seriously, your videos make me smile and I am so inspired by what you share. I haven't had it for a while, but I really like unsweetened flax milk. Flax milk? Is it made by blending ground flaxseeds and water? I haven't thought of making this one but now I'm excited to try!

  • @l-bird

    @l-bird

    6 жыл бұрын

    Lola Hunter Yes, pretty much. It's been a while and was a little bit more of a process than that since flax seeds are gel-like as they are ground. But, the recipe was something like: 1/4 cup flax seeds and about 6 cups of water. Blend in a blender, let sit a minute or so, blend again, let it sit a minute again, then blend... rest a few minutes and blend a 3rd time... Then, pour through a nut bag or cheese cloth. Squeeze the bag with your hands or tongs, etc. I think I poured it back into the blender and repeated the same process a 2nd time?? I like it unsweetened. But, you can sweeten the milk by rinsing the seeds out of the blender, and pouring the milk back into the blender. Add vanilla, or dates, or cinnamon, or ginger or any spice you like... and blend completely... skim the foam off the top. Then, pour through a sieve or sifter into a glass bottle... You can save the flax pulp by drying it on a cookie sheet on very low temp for 1 or 2 hours. The dried pulp can be ground into flour or sprinkled on cereal, or used in recipes. Hope that answers our question... Btw: I personally don't like the taste of almond milk, but find the flax milk delicious :)
