It's more likely designed for long hair because short hair is close to the scalp. Hard to avoid toching the roots.

Yea you should still apply conditioner especially if your hair is dry and thick. If A bit of conditioner touch the sculp is not a big deal. But I’m meaning not massaging the sculp with condition and apply directly there. ( if make sense ) Hope that helps .

nothing wrong will happen if the conditioner reaches the scalp...it is almost impossible to avoid the scalp at all...however, u should not massage it with conditioner

If the hair is very short you possible won’t avoid it 100% but with soft touch the ends only you will minimise the amount of products going though the roots so the hair won’t be greasy . Hope that helps 🙏
