DIMINUTIVES in BRAZILIAN PORTUGUESE - "Oizinho!"; "Que bonitinha"; "Um beijinho!"
Why do Brazilians use so many words in the diminutive form? The use of the diminutive is a distinctive feature of Brazilian Portuguese. You will be surprised with the diverse uses the diminutive has, ranging from the most common (and somehow obvious) one, which is to denote smallness, to a way used to express irony and sarcasm.
In today's lesson, you will learn how to form the diminutives adding 'inho', 'inha' or 'zinho', 'zinha' to the end of nouns, adjectives, and adverbs, and then the most common uses of it.

Oi, Naomi! Tudo bem? The Diminutive varies a little with names. It depends more on the sonority, on how it sounds than on a rule. For instance, your name could be 'Naominha', 'Naomizinha'...in my opinion, 'Naomizinha' sounds cuter.😊
