Hallo Manfred, Cool das du auf meinen Kanal gekommen bist :D Ja, ich würde die Videos gerne Deutsch anbieten, der Aufwand es 2-sprachig zu machen ist aber leider etwas hoch. Die meisten meiner Follower sind aus dem Ausland, daher habe ich mich als universelle Sprache für Englisch entschieden. Die grossen Foren von Elektron und Reddit sind ebenfalls nur auf Englisch. Evtl. hilft dir die automatische Übersetzung, die KZread für Untertitel anbietet? Kannst ja mal ausprobieren ob das was brauchbares bei rumkommt. Wünsche Dir auch schöne Weihnachten und viel Spass mit deinem Digitakt :)

@@ChuckW We had this while I was streaming the last session from september 8. In the second half there's a talk about it, I think it was the Midi Channel that you have to change now or so. Need to check the Digitakt Config but i am not in the studio rn

Did you get it working ? Elektron changed the implementation in Digitakt OS 1.3, the video is a bit outdated :)

@@59Perlen The only difference to your video I've noticed is that nowadays the delay/reverb/master settings are grouped into a seperate FX midi channel, which you have to set in the Midi Channel setup page and then address on the Midi SRC page

Great tutorial thanks! I've tried this trick about a year ago and sometimes the device was getting "frozen" after pressing stop button 2 times quickly. Although, I've seen you're doing it in the video. Have you ever witnessed the same problem?

Yeah I heard about this issue but never had it with my digitakt. I know that the Loopback feature got improved in one of the earlier OS updates ... did you check if you have the latest installed ? Mane that’s the Problem!

Watching your previous tutorials has really benefitted my own music making on the Digi. I'm finally making stuff I'm happy with. Keep it up, you're doing a great job. You should post your videos in the Elektron Digitakt group on Facebook, might help with some extra views.

Yep. The settings Are saved within the Track.

😎Just an idea: could it be possible to use the arpeggiator from Digitone in the Digitakt by using the midi tracks?

Not sure Martin - never tried that ;) but I tight the Arpeggiator is internal only, you can’t route the midi to other gear as it’s not a midi track.

@@59Perlen Thank you. You are right. Also, last weekend I managed to crash my digitone multiple times by using the arp... In the Elektronauts forum I found some hints that the arp could be buggy. I might get some little midi helper for arps that do not crash the system (blokas midihub, retrokits?).

Do you have any other use cases where this could be useful?

hi, thanks for watching. With Midi Loopback you could Control Multiple Tracks, for instance, or Random Mute and Unmute tracks and do Random Pattern Switches. Just some ideas ... but I'm only using it for FX modulation myself.

So theoretically, 2 lfos per midi track of 8 total can send 16 lfos total to one channel?

No. It’s been a while I used this feature but as far as I remember you have 2 LFO per midi channel, but sure if you can use all on one audio ! Think it’s 2 per channel.

I have tried a few different tutorials trying this technique even filling this one step by step, however it never seems to work I’m on1.30 but still nothing seems to be working

Elektron changed the Midi loopback behavior, please check the video description! There’s a link to the updated configuration.

I have been trying to do this but have run into difficulties. I want to use the LFO to modulate the delay time for flanging effects. The destination is CC#85 for delay time but filter 2 also uses CC#85 for cutoff (width) .. they use different NRPNs.. delay uses NRPN MSB #2 NRPN LSB #0 and filter 2 uses NRPN MSB #1 NRPN LSB #52. The defaut for controller #85 is width of filter 2 but I want it to modulate delay time. I have tried assigning these NRPNs to the next two encoder knobs but nothing changes ..knob 2 (MSB)is at 2, knob 3 (LSB) is at 0). I must be doing something wrong but it's not clear how to send NRPNs and nobody on the Elektron forum seems to know.

I’m sorry man … but my knowledge about midi ends already at the words “NRPN” and “MSB” 🤣 never heard about these, I don’t understand what you are talking about man! I just know that Elektron changed somehow the implementation of the loopback feature with os 1.30!

@@sidefish8362 Digitakt is not capable of sending NRPNs, only CCs. NRPN stands for Non Registered Paremeter Numbers. A MIDI feature for devices that have more than 128 parameters to be addressed. The knobs you are trying to use are for Program Change messages, a different thing. To reach the Delay you need a middle software like MIDI OX that can translate a CC to NRPN. Or a Bome box if you prefer hardware.

@@cooptrol It can send NRPNs actually. I did it a few months ago and used the midi loopback trick to change the delay speed. I can't remember now which numbers I used but it uses 2 knobs to set up one for the msb and one for the lsb.

@@sidefish8362 You may be right, according to the CC list on Ableton clips, the CCs for NRPN are 98 - LSB 99 - MSB Try those and let's see!

You can get used units. Elektron offers a smaller version of the Digitakt too, the Model:Samples.

yeah, this could easily be done with a firmware update. I'm sure it's been suggested to Elektron, but maybe they need to be reminded?

I think they are very aware of what they do and why. For instance, the Digitakt could easily get a song mode to save pattern chains. But until now, it doesn’t. This could be done with an update too, but they didn’t. God knows why ... maybe ... 😜😌

I wasn't aware there was a part of the world where a single MIDI cable is so expensive that one would be upset about internal MIDI routing being unavailable, I'm really sorry. If it helps I have a spare that I can send you, hit me up.

Mir ist nicht ganz klar wieso bei Midi A der Chanel 4 eingestellt wird und bei Midi B Chanel 1. Ich möchte das noch verstehen. Kannst du es mir nochmals erklären bitte?

Ich denke mit Midi A meinst du Track 9 und MidI B Track 10. In dem Fall ist Midi A auf Track 4 da ich mit diesem Midi Kanal einen Parameter vom Audio Channel 4 modifiziere. Midi B modifiziert hingegen einen Parameter der Effekt Kanäle (Delay frequency), die global für alle Audio Tracks gleichzeitig gültig sind - es wäre deshalb egal, ob ich hier Audio Channel 1 oder 6 wähle da immer der globale Parameter angesteuert wird. Ist das verständlich ? Etwas verwirrend ich weiss :)

In diesem Fall müsste ja auf Audio Channel 4 ebenfalls was drauf sein, sonst würde es ja nichts bewirken. Richtig? Wenn ja dann hätte ich dies jetzt verstanden. Und wann wirken Effekt Kanäle global? Gibt es hier eine Regel?

@@manfredscheffknecht2013 bin mir nicht sicher ob wir das gleiche meinen. Ich habe grundsätzlich auf ALLEN 8 Tracks samples liegen. Von denen kannst du gezielt Parameter mit der beschriebenen MIdI loopback Methode manipulieren, du musst dem MIditrack eben mitteilen welchen Audiotrack du ansprechen willst. Die Effekte sind beim Digitakt komplett als Send Kanäle Vorhanden. Dessen Parameter sind unabhängig von einem Audiotrack. Hingegen kannst du jedem Audiotrack mitteilen, ob und in welchem Masse er an den Effekt gesendet wird - dazu musst du wiederum dem Audiotrack mitteilen.

Yes, Elektron changed the implementation with OS 1.30 but it still works - I will make a little update video soon, you need to select the specific tracks now afai remember.

Don't mind the occasional ad. Lots of channels have them. But in this case the ads were popping up every minute or so, and the content of the ads was also extremely annoying. Made your video unwatchable. Sorry you don't have more control over that.@@59Perlen
