I have recently started using coconut oil as face wash and I love it! It feels so good on my skin and the container lasts forever! I love using chemical free products on my skin. Try it out and let me know what you think! Do you use any other beauty products that you can also find in your kitchen??
(I used organic, virgin, cold pressed, refined coconut oil)

For acne, coconut oil may make it worse or make it better. I think it comes down to skin type and cause of your acne. You definitely shouldn't over saturate your face with it though. You want your face to absorb the coconut oil and that's it! Don't apply so much that it just becomes grease. Acne with a bacterial problem benefits from this. To find out if it's right for you, the only way is to apply it and see if it works or not. What is there to lose? :)

+Okami and Kizuna No it should not make your skin worse. In the beginning you WILL break out, because coconut oil is detoxing your skin aka taking out all the bad that's been in from what you previously put on. Therefore saying the blackheads, whiteheads, and etc. In order to get to the good you got to go through the bad.

Yessss. Try manuka honey as a face mask. You will love it. The benefits are truly amazing. I use baking soda as an exfoliate, apple-cider vinegar as a toner. I do the oil pulling (face cleansing) with coconut oil, olive oil, a little tea tree oil. I have acne that's why I use tea tree. Some times I make a paste with the baking soda and honey for a mask. After my shower, I blot dry my skin and rub coconut oil all over. My skin looks and feels so much more healthy and supple.

Hmmm, considering coconuts contain Caprylic acid known for being an antibacterial, anti-viral, anti-fungal and having anti-inflammatory properties this very well could be great on your skin. Coconut also has Caprylic acid which balances hormones (a common cause of acne) and Capric acid which has similar properties to caprylic acid. This should be a decent detox and skin booster. If you consider it is created with MCFAs (medium chain fatty acids), it makes sense the body can absorb it easier then most other forms of fat.

I use coconut oil as a lotion but now I will try it on my face as well ;) Coffee and coconut oil are amazing... I use ground coffee to make a peeling. I mix it with ground cinnamon, sugar and a few drops of coconut oil. After that skin is as smooth as silk.

I always double-cleanse with some water-based foaming cleanser after using coconut oil to remove sunscreen or dirt. Just to be sure I removed all that grease that can clog my pores. It is important to use a moisturizer not to over stripping the skin! But the coconut oil is AMAZING, cheaper than those expensive Oil Cleansers or makeup remover and I just love the smell and the sensation on the skin.

I suffer with pretty bad psoriasis and have done for years, but the prescribed stuff i use on my body is too dangerous to use on my face, where i get it a lot. However i discovered coconut oil and it has worked wonders! the dry skin has virtually gone and i virtually have no redness on my face anymore. I now only use coconut oil to treat all my psoriasis. guessing it could help with eczema too

Maya Robinson This has been my experience for my Rosasea too. I spent gobs of money on a 3-step Rosasea treatment and it helped very little. One night it was very inflamed and just thought to google rosacea and coconut oil and it said it was great for it so I tried it. Ahhhh the RELIEF!!! The inflammation was calmed immediately. I've been using it everyday since instead of the expensive treatment with no regrets! Glad you found its working well for you too!

  • @doggiesarus

Coconut oil has antimicrobial properties (National Institutes of Health studies, not a "personal opinion). So, it would help acne in the long run because cleaning with it would keep the germs and infection that cause acne to be eliminated or reduced. Since it is also a moisturizer, I would think that it should be used after the water has soaked the skin to keep the water in. It is also good for your hair. Coconut oil is good for use on the teeth. I have a little squeeze bottle when the oil is liquid (warm months), and use it with a toothbrush to brush the teeth. It cleans the little microbes and bacteria in the mouth to make your breath fresh and sweet. Obviously, it is good if you suffer from dry mouth, or are going to give a speech. Coconut oil is amazing for cooking as well. The essential oils are also good for your skin when you eat them. As a beauty treatment, coconut oil is a necessity!

I have a question!! Does it matter if you use hot or cold water? Are you using hot water because you like how it feels like you're at a spa? lol. I just saw people say they used cold water and got good results also. I've been using coconut for my entire seventh grade school year. IVE NEVER TRIED THIS THOUGH! I've always just massaged it to my face, since I'm not allowed to wear makeup, before school. I felt confident and didn't feel the need to put on makeup. I've even gotten pimples for the first time that year and I just ignored them and continued to put coconut oil on and the pimples disappeared in just a couple days! And they weren't small pimples either haha. I really want to do this face wash with it though because I've been recently JUST starting to get some acne problems and hope this will help a little bit! I also wanted to see if this works so that I can share it on my channel. I ABSOLUTELY adore coconut oil! Thanks so much for this video! I think I'll try the face wash before I go to bed tonight haha

I did this for a little while and for some reason stopped?????? I went back to buying a store bought face cleanser which dried out my skin. I have no idea why I stopped this routine because it felt sooooo good! Well, today I'm back to using the coconut oil! Bonus... it smells gorgeous too. :)

I use coconut oil for face, body, hands, makeup remover eyelashes to keep them from breaking aside from castor oil.Coconut oil is amazing..After only a month of using it your skin will get glowing, subble, pore free and look thicker.I use a bristled brush scrub my entire body with it using coconut oil...Before showering and sometimes after I've showered the next few days I use The bristled brush after having washed it with soap and boiling water the day before again with only covonut oil even if I don't need a shower especially on the neck, chest and arms...Scrubbing with a bristled brush using covonut oil on body is AMAZING!!!Your skin will glow and look so healthy...I do the same for my face using different kinds of oils but scrubbing the oil with a round head toothbrush that I use only for my face including my eyelids, around my mouth.

Yes my coconut oil is somehow grainy I guess it might be because it's pure and extra virgin oil.

Angelina Mcfadden Coconut oil can get grainy when it gets exposed to cold then heat this is normal and if it has a strong aroma it only means that this grainy feeling in it indicates it's pure.

I am not sure I understand your question. But coconut oil when hot turns into a liquid and when it is cold it is more of a solid.

Hi I'm from Malaysia, loved that I found your video the minutes i searched "coconut oil as face wash". I headed straight to the nearest organic store and bought a bottle of coconut oil. However, when I opened it, the coconut oil is in it's liquid form rather than the pasty form like yours. Do you think it will have the same effect if I use this liquid form coconut oil? Thansk!

Coconut oil is a saturated fat, meaning it can change form depending on the temperature. If kept in colder temperatures, it will solidify, and during warmer temperatures, it will melt and become gooey/liquid. I tried putting mine in the refrigerator, and it was too solid when I wanted to use so I had to break it with a spoon!

Hi Evonne! So happy you found my channel!!!! Xoxox and the coconut oil will change consistency depending on temperature. You can stick it in the fridge for an hour or so and it will harden! Good luck and enjoy!

I remove makeup first with coconut oil them do a face massage with honey. Wash that off then apply coconut oil again, allow it to soak in for a few hours or if you're in a hurry a few minutes will do just fine. I also have a container of coconut & extra virgin olive oil mixed that I love applying before bed and leaving on all night! Just remember there is an important tip I will share, after you wash your face with hot water immediately splash cold water for about 20 seconds on your face because it will close your pores and allow the moisture to to stay locked in and the dirt and grime to stay locked out! 😉
