Thank you for saying not to put them in the dishwasher. I’ve been telling my husband this and he thinks I’m crazy. It’s the same with my pots and pans. No dishwasher! We’ve actually had arguments about this! 😂

Thank you for putting out this video. Knives have always intimidated me since I'm somewhat clumsy to begin with, but your techniques look easy and look like something even I might be able to pull off with a little practice.
I’ve been cooking for 40 years so I thought I would know all this... but I didn’t! I just learned a lot. Thank you very much ! I’m going to save this!

A friend of ours dropped their block on the floor. It broke open and it was full of mold and disgusting funk. It was a Cutco block and they are very clean people. I will never use a block again.
I have been
A steel is not made to sharpen a knife to get rid of the edge after you sharpen the knife on a whetstone or whatever
What you did not mention about the 'sharpening steel' is that it really does not "sharpen". All metal oxidizes, and knives are no different. That little tool just swipes off the oxidation permitting the blade to smoothly pass through what ever you're using it for. Most people do not use their kitchen cutlery as a professional chef does, so the tool works fine. Also most people will just replace their chef's knife after 2 to 3 years thinking that it is worn out; mis-steak! It just needs a professional sharpening.
what is the deal with "mom tip"?
Only an ANIMAL would put their good knives in a dishwasher! Anything with rivits shoul;d be hand washed or the rivits will come loose and the handles will fall apart.
