I just got mine 2 days ago and am learning to use it. As a rank beginner with video, I think it's great although I have noticed that the AI will lose lock if moved too quickly or when changing between normal and low angle or vice versa.

Flow will guarantee good use of that National Trust card! Dartmoor has never looked so cinematic 🍿

Great as usual. I use the Insta360 Flow and so far I find it much better than any of my DJI stabilizers. I love the Deep Track!

While this gimbal looks to perform OK, I'd be interested in seeing a comparison with the new Hohem iSteady M6 complete with its AI Tracker and fill light gizmo attached. I have one of those, and it is remarkable. Because the AI tracking unit is separate, it works with the gimbal in any 3rd party software (eg Cinema P3) without having to use the Hohem's own app. It also responds to hand signals if you're filming yourself, including putting you anywhere in the frame, just like this one can. It also will re-"capture" you if you are obscured then re-appear. But the Hohem has a much greater range of movement, a much better tripod, and you can get a separate little remote control for those times you want to move the thing while you're not holding it - eg vlogging with the phone on the gimbal in tripod mode. For me, the Hohem is just a much better value for a relatively small amount of extra money. Would be interested in your comparison.... :)

You’re absolutely right, this old Tin Mine is just outside of Tavistock. I parked on the main road at the top of the hill (behind the old tin mine) and walked down from there. Definitely worth a visit. Hope this helps.

Looks a great gimbal and somehow they have reinvented the axis’ because they’ve kind’ve moved them to make it fold up smaller. I had a Vimble 2 but sold it because I didn’t use it, not because it wasn’t good but because it was a little bulky. Do i need this as well as an insta360 one X2? Great video.

How do you transfer the Flow clips inside the app to Final Cut? Using the app is the only way to take tracking shots, but how do you import them into Final Cut, there is not button for exporting, and when I connect my phone to my Mac and openFinal Cut the Flow files don't show the video clips.

Does this work with Android or only iPhone. My Osmo 6 with my Samsung does not want to lock. Makes it pretty useless. Plus I find some sound distortion.

One thing you didn’t address is the limited weight it can carry. I use an SSD drive attached to my iPhone and a lot of these gimbals won’t hold the combined weight and/or thickness. What gimbal do you recommend that can handle the combined weight? It seems the Hohem has the highest capacity.

Hey, iv found your channel interesting in very educational.. my question with the flow.. i do alot of filming at Disneyland Paris where normally their are lots of people.. how do you think the tracking would work tracking the disney castle for instance even with people in the foreground? Thanks

Hi James, I’m glad you enjoyed the video. With regards to shooting at Disneyland, I would imagine the Flow would lock on to the castle and keep it there pretty well. In my experience, the AI is able to stay locked on even with things in the foreground, if it does lose its track, then it is able to re-identify and lock again.👍

@Learn Online Video super .. iv been mulling over getting the insta flow since release but have delayed and delayed and made excuses not to get it.. my other excuse is the fact I'm andriod not iphone and I know the functionality isn't as good

I’ve got this gimbal and the AI is far better with people and faces than with objects and even then, it’s still better than most other smartphone gimbals… If you have fairly small hands you’ll get on fine with it albeit a bit top-heavy with the battery in the yaw axis arm and always above your hand (and the extension exaggerates this further) however if, like me, you have large hands and a thumb the size of a big toe you’re likely to struggle… The slight instability of the tripod doesn’t bother me much because it does what other smartphone gimbals don’t and it allows you to have a tripod on hand whenever it’s needed and if you want something more sturdy then you have a 1/4 20 on the bottom anyway… Battery life is ridiculously long so the top-heaviness could be lessened by having half the size battery and it’ll probably still last longer than most other gimbals… It’s a brilliant gimbal but I’m afraid I’ll reach for the OM6 most of the time… Fantastic vid! Very well made as always and I religiously watch, like and then save your videos because they’re so informative and useful! Keep up the good work! ‘And I’ll see you in the next video!’
