    You get a like and subscribe for giving a decent overview of the Power Probe and gave simple examples of how it can be used. Electrics have always been a mystery and it is good to get basic learning from others !

    I’ve got the power probe IV its bloody good one feature I really like is the simple scientific principle that the12V is coming from the battery in the car and the ground is clipped on to the frame so if there’s an earth issue it will pick it up as opposed to using a remote battery I think it’s testing the circuit in a better way to do that if you combine this with the load pro you can get a hell of a lot done that’s for sure.....

    Excellent video! just what I need to test the ground on dimmed low beam lights. I will connect positive cable to Battery (+) and negative cable to Battery (-), then I will use the probe on the bulb's socket to identify which of the two entry points is (+) and (-). Once that is done, with the contact on and lights on, I will insert the probe in the negative entry point and I will push ground to it. IF the lights get more intense I will infiere that the socket has a bad ground connection. DID I LEARN THE LESSON? Thanks for your video.

    If you have 5 volts do not hit the switch on the power probe there goes the PCM. Test your connection before you apply 12 volts.

    OK but how you can test continuety cause the ecu harness plug inside the car and injector plug outside the car how can you perform that with this tool which I have it but I don't know if I can use it in that case or I'll bring long wire and connect it with my multimeter and do my test

    Nor trying to sound silly but is there a way to check continuity? Would that be when it has a solid beep and green or does that just mean that it’s grounded? I’m replacing a blower motor, the new part does the solid green old one doesn’t....

    What does it mean when my power probe lights up and makes the b+ sound when on certain wires but it doesn't hold a steady tone it sounds like Morris code? 13.0 volts I don't understand also I've came across grounds that read as ground but show .03 or .3 volts I forget it's beenr a while also when it reads power but doesn't make the tone

    I used my probe 3 to touch on a two wire plug with a red and brown wire. touching the pin on the brown wire my probe read battery voltage, then i used to probe to add ground and completed the circuit as my starter proceeded to turn over my jet ski. the reason I am wondering why this might have happened is because I was initially following a video where this guy touches the same pin and his probe read a ground green symbol when touching the brown wire, he probed the pin adding positive current and then his jet ski cranked over... what am i missing? and why did this work in an opposite fashion ? any advice helps

    Can the power probe find a shorted wire, like I don’t have power to my break light? Will it find the broken wire??

  • @natebleepinjeep9564

    @natebleepinjeep9564

    6 жыл бұрын

    Steve Dutcher it definitely can help. You can probe the wire coming out of your flasher relay and just probe the wire all the way down to the tail light to see where you are lossing power. But it could be a number of other things. It could be the relay itself, it could be your turn signal switch or even just a bad ground. In any case you can use a Power Probe to test all of these systems. Good luck!
