How To Use A Hot Glue Gun (Full Tutorial)

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

In this video, I show you how to use a hot glue gun. It is a full tutorial that demonstrates myself using the glue gun, and also reloading it with a new glue stick. It is a very useful tool that can glue things together quickly; it also doesn't create a mess!

    First step should be - get a hot glue gun. Step two; get some 'hot glue gun' glue sticks. Then, assuming you've got a mains supply, plug the hot glue gun into the mains: wait till it heats up, then insert the 'hot glue gun' glue sticks, into the hot glue gun, and way to go! Stick stuff together! Hope this helps. R.

    Don't ever say you're stupid! You can say I'm ignorant of the process, which is perfectly acceptable and admired. Ignorance is a lack of knowledge on a specific subject. You overcome this by studying until you know the subject, which is precisely what you're doing. Stupid means that you're a total imbecile who knows nuttin' and doesn't want to know nuttin'! 😅

    Over a million views for this simple tutorial on how to use a glue gun, kinda like someone reading the instructions on a shampoo bottle. God bless you, buddy. Gotta respect a million views. :) Here's good one, I'm gonna regret having my name on this one. Many years ago, I got a big gob of hot glue gun on my finger, and immediately, just reflexively jerked my hand up toward my mouth to blow on it. In doing so, I overshot, and jammed the hot glue right into my upper lip. Burnt like hell, so then I had a blister on my lip as well as my finger. Three Stooges, except only one stooge. Do not do that, folks.

    Maybe that burn was a down payment of karma, for this comment where you're talking down to people who never used a glue gun before (comparing it to needing directions for shampoo). In my case, I found a glue gun (that belongs to a family member) in a drawer, and I didn't want to plug it in+possibly damage it.

  • @xray7908

    @xray7908

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@jstriker623 Yeah, I'm not sure how Karma knew I was gonna one day make a joke about instructions on how to use a glue gun, but it's a good theory. Remember that when you start messing with a glue gun that doesn't belong to you. Maybe ask the owner as well as going to KZread, eh? I'll note that this video had "over a million" views when I commented 2 years ago - and it has over 2 million today. That's an amazing testament to the foresight of the creator, thinking that other people could use these tips. My tip - don't accidentally touch your face with hot glue when it gets on your finger! Hot glue guns are great... we could fix almost all the broken stuff in the world with hot glue guns, coat hangers, and duct tape. We can create great arts and crafts projects. It's all good.

    In most brands, except Bosch, there is nothing to stop the flow of glue. The glue drizzles constantly and the trigger merely speeds the flow, so you must assemble everything you need to glue before plugging it in, work quickly, then unplug it while you still have things to glue, so you'll use the last of the hot glue before it solidifies. If I were buying a glue gun I'd buy the Bosch one, as you waste so much glue with others.

    I realize this is too late to help you in particular, but just in case someone else has this problem and reads your question in hopes of getting an answer for themselves: Buy glue sticks that match the size of your gun. The gun he is using is a mini glue gun, there are also regular sized glue guns that are about twice the size as his. The mini glue guns say on the packaging to only use mini glue sticks; for the regular ones, you can only use glue sticks that match their size, too. They usually say on the bag they come in what size gun they are for. The difference is in circumference, not in length, by the way, just make sure your glue stick is the same circumference as the hole in your glue gun. If it isn't - if it's bigger or smaller - please go back to the store and exchange them, because it's not going to work.

    Thanks for the tips. Is it okay to leave the glue stick in the glue gun for later use or should it be pulled out or taken out? Will whatever glue is left in the hot tip ruin it as it solidifies if I leave the glue stick in there? Thanks.

    @@missbradicah Hello Miss Bradicah.... FYI... I found out... it is okay to leave the glue in the gun. I left it there for like a week and it did not damage it at all. What happens when you turn it on and use it again...and residual glue that solidified....melted with no problem. The hot tip..did not get damaged or ruined. Also... DO NOT...pull out...the "Old or left over glue that is in there. As the Lever is pressed or squeezed, you can see the action of the glue stick going forward, held steady at the rear (don't know what it is called, but it "WRAPS" around the glue stick and helps guide the glue stick forward...by trying to pull it out you can possibly...I say possibly... mess up that plastic holder. I can't say for ALL glue guns now. I don't know if other glue guns will allow you to pull it back out without any damage or not. I am using the Ryobi one+ Glue gun and I've tried to gently and slowly pull it back out...and I won't say it is stuck...But it's in there and I don't want to forcibly pull it any harder just to see...after all, I don't want to waste my hard earned money.....but everytime I've used it..still works with no problems...... and so I think the principle as the glue stick gets used and used and you feed another stick in there..it helps to keep the tension on the old one and pushes it out until it's depleted.......and it's been working fine with no problems for me. Anyways...apologies for the long novel... Take care and stay safe. JT

    PLEASE REPLY!!! can I leave my glue stick in the hot glue gun when Ive finished using the gun?? Or will it harden up and the gun will get ruined??! Also, what happens if the glue stick is too short for the trigger to push out, what can I use to push the rest of the glue stick out?? (Without needing to use another glue stick)

    Yes you can leave it in. You can try to pull it out if you want... ;d Well you obviously buy more glue. Once it's loaded it's forever loaded. You must keep feeding glue into it. If you're truly desperate to use the last amount of glue, then push the rest in with a pencil, but I highly suggest against it and maintain a continuous stick by feeding more and more into it until you end up with a bowling ball size of glue and your electricity bill is high.
