Good clean fun right there! Recently bought a 20ga. O/U, and dug out my Father in laws Outer's mechanical thrower today, will have to locate my hand thrower tomorrow after watching this- it's been awhile. Thanks for sharing 👍

Got used to using a hand thrower. I agree, they are much more fun than mechanical throwers. I can put climbs, curves, swoops, just about any trajectory on that clay that I want with the hand thrower. Make the shooter work for it. haha

Thank you for this video. Very helpful. Do you have any thoughts on throwers if you were by yourself?

I know I must not be whipping the wrist hard enough (but when i throw a double stacked its perfect) my single clay will NEVER come out. it always comes out maybe half an inch and get stuck. I am wondering if I should sand the inner curve or try to bend the curve open a bit so its not so tight.

There are throwers with hinge. They are much frendly to your wrist.

Almost been hit a few times by people with hand throwers. Had a friend fling one all the way behind him and back down a hill we where shooting on.

One of my college buddies asked me to take them shooting. I don't have a gun so I didn't want to go without something to do so I got this and a case of the targets. We had gun learning 😆 We threw 15 hit 5 got 3 back the rest broke from the fall. Tbh it was a great experience learning on the fly. I enjoyed your video. Maybe next time my throws will be not so iffy😆

Anybody have an idea about how fast you can send a pigeon with the hand wand? I imagine an actual turret is much faster but I don't know just how much faster. Don't exactly have the facilities in my area to get to do this "proper" so it's just me and the buddies whipping clays out for a few hours. But I've always wondered how much harder it would be at a club with proper throwing equipment...

I’m not sure about the speed of throwing them by hand but at the typical club they are thrown around 40 something mph. Olympic machines throw them about 62-63 mph which is significantly faster than anything by hand I’m sure. I’ve never shot anything other than by hand so anything from a machine would be a real challenge for me.

It's working even better if u put some lube inside the thrower. Less friction = more speed

I like to save my forearms for eventual shooting and swing it like a baseball bat. Easier for me to whip too as I stop the swing.

Is there a way to throw it so it's like a rabbit

I can't seem to find WHERE DO YOU STAND ???? directly behind? to the side ? can they fire as soon as they want ? JEESH !

Shooter typically stands to the left of the thrower and one half step in front-if the shooter is right handed.

Almost whacked my buddy with one. I usually do the baseball swing and I’m pretty good with that one but I’m not very good with one hand.

The trick is to get someone thats actually intelligent and athletic. Not some desk chair couch pptatoe gamer !! Someone that played littlee league is a minimum!! Or ur wasting your ammo, gun , clays, & range time when its this male girls turn. !!
