To use a fire extinguisher, begin by pulling the safety pin and releasing the locking mechanism. Next, aim the discharge nozzle of your extinguisher at the base of the fire and squeeze the discharge lever. Finally, be sure to sweep the nozzle from side to side to ensure you extinguish the fire evenly.

Same here! Don't forget, to be on the safe side, that fire extinguishers have an expiration date. Check what yours have based on who manufactures them, what type they are, etc.
