How to use a BBQ lighter and have it light EVERY time. Scripto BIC

Комедия

Most people think these are unreliable due to squeezing trigger too fast... slow squeeze and they light every time.

Thanks for this video! Just rescued a Scripto BBQ lighter from a dumpster and it just wouldn't light, no matter how many times I squeezed the trigger. Watched your video and found out I was squeezing the trigger way too fast. Once I did a slow squeeze it lit the first time & every time since.

For people who are having issues with a locked trigger, the guy left out one key step. There is a safety mechanism on a lot of stick ligters that prevents trigger from being pulled if not engaged. It's located above the trigger when held properly (like he's doing in the video). It is required that this mechanism be slid forward (or depressed) to unlock the trigger. The other information in the video is correct though.

Great teaching. I was about to head out and buy another lighter after about 6 months of using it. I thought I research this lighter first and I found this video. My Soripto lighter works fine. Just GO SLOW. Isn't that true for most things in life? This video saved me time. Stay home and be safe. Thank you

I was ready to throw my new one out as I followed the instructions in another KZread video but it said nothing about pulling the trigger SLOW. That was the key. Thanks so much. I had already thrown out a more expensive, fancier one with the bendable shaft as it didn't work, but it was also prob because I pulled the trigger too fast. You are my hero today:)

Straightforward, effective, down to earth video. I THOUGHT MY SCRIPTO BBQ LIGHTER WAS DEAD. I watched the video once, tried the stupid lighter once more, pulling trigger slowly. Didn't work on 1st try because it's been dead! But worked the 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th times! Nice. Now I need another video to find out why the pilot light on my fireplace won't light! Wish me luck! At least the lighter works again.

They are just not reliable! My husband and I couldn't get it to work through the years and today tried to follow these directions but still nothing. Believe me we do not pull the trigger too fast especially after watching this but it just doesn't work. It is practically new, definitely looks new. A waste of money!

Because everyone who's ever used a cigarette lighter... wouldn't know, about go slow, for the flow! 🔥 Thanks dude, may the packaging needs to say this in BOLD? of course how many perfectly working lighters get thrown away? Filling the need of profits and greed. GREAT INFO VIDEO!!!!

This sounds like excellent advice! However, my Ronson BBQ lighter stopped working and I'm stumped. There's still plenty of butane in it. I'm able to coax a small blue flame out of the end which then immediately goes out. That's it. I'm squeezing slowly, tried adjusting the -/+ setting, etc., but that's it. It used to work, but I hadn't used it for a while. Of course it's also a pretty inexpensive lighter, and it could simply be defective now, but it irks me to throw it out when the butane chamber is still mostly full...!

My problem more is that I have to push so hard on mine (Kic) that I just can't hold the top long enough to be slow with the trigger. I finally got it to work, but it's still tough. My boyfriend acted like I was dumb for not being able to do it. I think it's just that he has stronger hands, lol. Thanks for the tip though!
