I try to upgrade 5.6.35 to php 8. not worked??? I tried restart apahce and get error 13:45:45 [Apache] Status change detected: stopped 13:45:45 [Apache] Error: Apache shutdown unexpectedly. 13:45:45 [Apache] This may be due to a blocked port, missing dependencies, 13:45:45 [Apache] improper privileges, a crash, or a shutdown by another method. 13:45:45 [Apache] Press the Logs button to view error logs and check 13:45:45 [Apache] the Windows Event Viewer for more clues 13:45:45 [Apache] If you need more help, copy and post this 13:45:45 [Apache] entire log window on the forums check for error logs , it says no error log file , it says I can create log file , I choose yes and restart again, error log file is empty. I look windows event viever, see nothing.

You absolute legend this worked perfectly!

It's not working for me, I mean when I check php -p in the php folder it's downgraded to 7.1.3 but when I check php -v in root location it's still the same 8.1 Please help me with this

1:30 I tried to rename php > php_bc. How to get rid a message "This operation cannot be completed because the folder or file is open in another program. Close the folder or file and try again."? It displays the message even then if all of programs is closed.

Still almost working - I had to downgrade from php8 to php7.4. The only thing you have to do.. you have to enter all (3-4?) conf files from apache as well to change the path, thank you!

is possible keep a older version of php and a recent version of apache? I have a server with php 5.5.38 and apache 2.4.55, but xampp doesnt have these specific configurations. My idea is downgrade php and keep a recent apache version, but this is'nt workingg. Do you have any idea what to do? Maybe there are configuration inside apache folder

MySQL port in XAMPP shutdown after i made the Apache server work when i changed the version. What can i do?

Thanks, I was trying to do a tutorial of laravel but mid way turns out the version used in it is Laravel 5.8 meanwhile I got Laravel 8 so I had to downgrade but Laravel 5.8 doesn't work in PHP 8 so i had to downgrade the PHP first.

Hi everyone I would like to ask for some advice from this community of web developers about the problem that I am facing right now as I am personally an IT person. I hired a web developer to develop an e-commerce website for me. Yesterday I came to know that the PHP version that was used to creat the website was very old, it’s PHP 5.6. A friend of mine who a understand a thing or two about the web development, said that this web developer had you, in an ugly way thoroughly. What he meant is that the version is to old. And it’s practically useless. He said it’s impossible to upgrade it or do anything about it. He said the web developer sold me a useless website. If it’s not a problem for you guys, could you please enlighten me as how bad is my situation here, and if my friend is right. Because, though my friend understanding something about web developing but he is not a professional.

I want to downgrade from 7.4 to 5.6. After follow the steps it works when I see the phpinfo the version has changed to 5.6, but if I check using php -v in command line it's still version 7.4. Any idea why does it happen?
