Tulin is the only one I have around at all times because his power is actually useful while gliding, the others are just annoying to me tbh when they are all around at the same time it's just getting in the way

I loved the feeling of rolling up to a group of enemies with a full squad ready to run them down

Missed opportunity by Nintendo to make upgrading sages improve their ability instead of just making them deal more attack damage. I got real bummed out when I discovered this.

@@hawkeyemihawkgettingmoneylord I mean I’d still call it a 10, my main appeal is how strong you can get and how strong your character actually feels (idc about story), but it does suck you have to do workarounds for certain abilities, like rockets are easy to get and shieldfusing doesn’t take long but it’ll never be as convenient as revali’s gale

To be honest it is pretty hilarious to see Yunobo yeet an enemy across your screen with his hammer.

I always keep all of my sages out, it makes me feel less alone and safe with all of the extra company 😊

Fucking preach. That's easily my least favorite thing about the game. It's just hard to be in a battle and use the abilities. I'm having to run around looking for the sage I want which isn't always easy.

this works while the difficulty is low, when your difficulty is high, the hits might as well heal them, but the stuns are still useful.

Sages are definitely one of my favorite parts about totk. It made me feel like I'm actually getting help from my friends. I just wish the sages still have some voice lines to make.

These things are so unbalanced. Some are just sitting there unguarded and easy to get. Others are protected by King Gleeoks. It’s insane.

Compared to botw the cooldowns are so low, I don't think they need reduction. I would've like to see more effective sages. Like Tulin's gust being stronger or Sidon's shield tanking 2 hits.

I think thats not necessary. I mean using the sages' abilities is already clunky. 25% CDR aint gonna change that much. I think the main purpose of the sages and their avatars is so that you have companions while adventuring Hyrule

You can upgrade them all, but Riju will still be the only teammate you have that doesn't make you wish you had the squad from BotW . Somehow having more than 1 of them in a group at a time makes them more useless than they were alone .

Honestly i miss the botw champion abilities. they all have a unique purpose and were all very helpful.

It would have been fun that when you do it, you unlock botw's champion ability (if you upgrade sidon you get mipha's power), it would have been cool.

What I would do if I got to choose how to upgrade the SKILLS of the sages: Tulin: Obviously he would just get a longer gust range, maybe 1.5 - 2x farther. Alternative: The gust can now be aimed in any direction. Yunobo: Either would auto target enemies or do damage while coming back, he would roll back, essentially becoming a boomerang. Alternative: You can guide Yunobo during his roll. Sidon: The shield ability no longer breaks when you attack. Alternative: The shield now absorbs 2 hits instead of 1. Riju: The electric field now expands faster. Alternative: You can now shoot an extra 1-2 arrows and they will still cause lightning. Mineru: You now get 1 maybe even 2 more arms. If it’s 2 arms, they both attack with half damage. (For balance) Alternative even though we all want the extra arm(s): The construct now uses less battery to use. Tell me in the replies how you would upgrade the abilities (Or what you think of my upgrade ideas)

I would ads as a QoL that when you draw your bow you can press A to activate rijuu skill or for sidon that when you target an enemy qnd you dont have your shield put you can press A to activate the water shield. Sorry for bad english

You can make them attack faster and stronger if you wear their corresponding helm like the vah ruta helm buffs sidon, and gives him the same helm as the ancient sage! Spoiler warning! Please note there might not be one for Mineru, it might be the zonaite helm because it gives her the little brush thing.

I think it’s so funny how we finally get to hang up on things or have a war

They should’ve made that pressing “A” pops up the abilities of the champions and u chose whichever u want to use with the “YXAB” bottoms instead of having to get close to them it’s so annoying specially when u wan to grab something or they’re all together

I was so happy when I collected 4 of them, I didn't look it up cause I didn't want spoilers but once I did I was veeeeeerry disappointed lol. But it made Tulins eyes glow yellow and his head to be a lighter glow of blue so that was cool

It also makes them a little greener when upgraded

If they make dlc, they absolutely have to do what they did with botw and make all their abilities better

Having them all out at once gives me homey Dragon Age vibes and I’m so glad they can be out at the same time. It’s like a family gathering with my son, daughter, shark husband and my brother in law. Plus, Sidon usually protects me and hits things before I even know what’s going on as I’m mid fight trying to mine some ore

Sidon simps on their way to obtain the Sage’s Will:

Disappointing that they don't reduce cool downs at least. I had hoped for some additional functionality or something, but the game is packed with features so I shouldn't be so ungrateful.

With all of them having it they’ll go ham on any white/silver enemy.

I generally put up my sages they can be annoying when you're trying to pick things up and you hear, "STRONG WIND! Wuoooooo!"

If you wear the goron divine mask, yunobo will now oneshot the armor of an armored bokoblin.

I actually like minerus stun ability when riding the construct. Simply hitting most enemies knocks them over, ball or not

I got them all, I've killed all the King Gleeoks (Including those underground) and they're fun, but that's the only reason to fight them really

I was hoping it would change their weapons to stronger version, maybe looks too. I was expecting an atk damage boost

The divine helms do the same I believe and also make the sages wear them too

suggestions for which ones to get: Tulin 100%, his headshots are excellent, and he’s the only Sage consistently doing damage and Sage of Spirits, when upgraded, her unfused attack can break ore and rock walls, making her a more focused way of destroying rocks, without the downside of scattering the gemstones like Yunobo or Riju

I was hoping it'd lower the ability cooldown. Spamming Tulin gusts would be very useful

i was so confused when i upgraded tulin and i didn't notice any change, i was expecting the wind current to push link further or something like that

You can't forget to get the devine beasts helmets for each sage. When you wear them your sage also wears it which increases their attack.

Yeah I almost never use the avatars. I find that they just get in the way most of the time. I wish you could just use their abilities without them being present.

It does make the cool down time quicker I noticed it’s slightly quicker

I randomly found 14 by searching for the shrines and slayint all gleeoks

I already had 8 of the Sage's Wills before doing ANY of the Temples. I think we might get 8 more Shrines and 4 more Sage's Wills in the DLC to max out BOTH Hearts AND Stamina, and make Paya the Shadow Sage.

Tulin is well worth it. His sniper skills are crazy.

Tulin sometimes hits multiple headhots in quick succession which is fuckin awesome. I got all 20 sages will bc I could.

Tulin starts making head shots after his upgrade, so I think it’s worth it for at least him.

I mean they can basically automate easier fights for me so I really don't see the need to upgrade them (I'll probably do it anyways, but it's not a major goal) Even if they are a bit weaker, it's still 5 fighters so collectively they can take on most weaker enemies while I just stand back and watch

if they added a quick way to activate the ability without having to walk up to them like tulin also it would make the ability 100x better.

So that's what the sale's will do

You could also whistle and if you give the will to one of your things it makes them come faster

I am doing a full playtrough of totk ( every armor shrine weapon item qeust etc.) and i almost overlooked this! Thanks a lot

I've noticed they do actually slightly lower the cooldown of their abilities it also changes their appearances like the zonai mech instead of being just green gets a golden shade and instead of blue aura gets a slightly purple aura

Tulin is my favorite sage ,I like donning the vah medoh mask as well.

I got them all because I find the gane itself fun to play, explore and see what parts of the world changed in the time skip between BotW and TotK. The answer being "more than it's been given credit for" imho, between the caves, nee settlement, chasms, fallen sky ruins, nee drops and new enemies. Of course, the most jarring change to me was the Shrine of Resurrection being converted into a Yiga hideout.

Fun fact; they also get a special glow but mineru is left out due to being a construct

I feel like Tulin and Goron Boi are nice in that their abilities are automatically available during certain actions, such as being in the air for the former and being on Zonai gear for the latter. I wish Ruji's would be available while I'm aiming a bow, cause otherwise she's always running away from me. Sidon's would be tricky, since guarding wouldn't work (as you need to be able to parry), but there's probably something.

They’re a much more fun quest than getting all the koroks, so i’d do it, plus a good amount are just sitting in an unguarded chest

I hardly, HARDLY believe people didn’t know this.

I’m not mad at just the attack stat boost, in fact it is very welcome for me. But I do agree that this was a missed opportunity for upgrading their abilities, even if it was just a cooldown reduction.
