Hi Dan, I can confirm I was able to do the update myself. I did have to re-download the files from elsewhere though as the files you provided didn't work. The update files are supposed to be around 3.5 gb in size but for some reason when I downloaded them from your G drive they were only 1.9gb which the qashqai didn't like. Once I got the right files, it all went smoothly. For anyone wondering, you don't need a battery charger to do the update. You can either leave your engine running or do what I did and go for a drive while the update is in progress but in any case make sure to keep your engine on. If at any point the engine is turned off, it'll brick the system and it won't be recoverable.

I think Google drive compresses it to a zip file.

Does anyone who has the rebooting issue manage to do it themselves. If the unit keeps rebooting surely it will reboot during the update process?

@@TheQashqaiGuy Yea it does but even when uncompressed, it wasn't the right size. Maybe the compression corrupts the files or something.

Just wanted to say thanks, QG. We'd only recently bought a Juke (our first Nissan), really pleased with it but were really disappointed with the situation with the stereo. After reading many threads online - and your excellent YT videos - I rang my local dealer to install an update. I said it should be free, but they said they *may* charge me £132 and wouldn't book it in until I agreed. Searching yesterday I found this video and decided to do it myself. Downloaded the two zips onto a FAT32 16GB stick. Unzipped with Winrar and this morning went for it. Old version of software was D302. I have updated and upgraded loads of stuff in the past but this really made me nervous. However, the process was smooth, took roughly 55 mins and updated perfectly. My DAB station presets were still there too. Everything worked, DAB, Satnav, CD and Bluetooth, although I had to add my phone again. Had a 40 minute journey this morning and everything was fine, although the unit did reboot itself around 5/6 mins after the update, but fine after that. Thanks again, QG.

You have changed my life!!!! I have had this problem for nearly a year and thought it was due to the rat that had chewed through several wires causing faults with my electrics and lights (until it met a fateful end). I have pulled off nearly all the interior of my Juke on the hunt for the assumed damaged wire. I decided to have one last search for a wiring diagram for the radio when I happened upon a thread with other Nissan owners bemoaning the same issue and found your download. I have never used a USB stick before but I am one determined woman and although it took me all day, I managed to attach a trickle charger, FAT32, reformat, download, navigate the instructions to the letter and SUCCESS.....I couldn't believe it. Thank you, driving has become a pleasure again now that I can sing my heart out and not have the song drop out every 30 seconds!!!!

Thank you for this video and the files. This issue has been driving me and the wife mad for the last 6 months since we got our 66 juke. Took about an hour in total. Just left the engine on while it updated. And probably saved us a load of money going to a dealership to get done. 👌

I have had this issue for about a year and it’s been so annoying, I have just downloaded the files and updated my juke 65 plate, the version I had on mine was 03, everything works perfectly now, the handsfree, Bluetooth, radio and sat nav. Thank you so much for sharing this.

Wanted to say thanks for this. Appreciate this video is two years old and I’ve been suffering with the audio gap issue the past 3 years or so. Was at the point I was about ready to tear the stereo out and replace with an aftermarket and lose my cameras but this worked an absolute treat. Used a SanDisk 8GB stick formatted to FAT32. Three of the files were missing when I downloaded the folder from Google Drive so would recommend downloading the files one by one and placing them all upfront on the USB drive and not in a folder. Took about 55 minutes or so and after removing the USB stick took about 3 minutes to go from “remove USB” screen to the Nissan reboot. No need to have your hazards going if you’ve got the engine running but make sure to open your windows and ensure auto stop/start is turned off.

To be all followers and new viewers this gentleman is genuine super helpful. Downloaded all files. Copied to usb drive fat32. Procedure is easy and safe. Took 58 minutes to complete entire process. Fixed all issues. My previous ver. Was d502. Please make sure engine is running during the process and all will be fix for free. Qashqai Guy THANK YOU 😊

Just updated successfully using a 4GB USB 2.0 stick after having difficulty with 16Gb USB 3.0 - updated from D205 to D605 directly on a Juke NISMO. Thank you so much for your help with this. I previously contacted 2 local dealers who were asking £114 and £120 respectively!

I had to pop back in here to say a huge thank you. I’ve got an X-Trail T32 which has been plagued for months by random rebooting, sometimes three times on a 20 minute run. So I took the plunge and downloaded the files from your link, used the battery charger and hazard light method to stop the radio turning off and 2 days later set off for Cornwall! The radio has been flawless….can’t stop the Nav choosing tiny Cornish roads as “fastest” but that’s another issue! 😂😂

I performed the update this morning and all went well. Thanks for your help and guidance, much appreciated. Keep up the sterling work you are doing.

Further to my original post, I can now confirm, having spent 5 hours on the road, the update works beautifully. Not a single dropout or blip the entire journey. Happy days 😀 Thank you again for the advice and support.

Just downloaded and installed soft ware, works perfectly. Just be aware there should be 15 files, P.C. security settings stopped 2 files downloading, so best check you have all the files. Anyway great job, world is a better place with people like you trying helping others. Many thanks.

Worked a treat. Seems to have resolved the DAB issues, hopefully it sorts the BT Audio niggles as well. My local Nissan dealership quoted me £269 for an out of warranty update, so was quite happy I stumbled across your video!

Thanks for the videos. I contacted the Nissan support line as per your previous video who emailed me a ticket number and said the Nissan dealer should be able to upgrade the software for free. Booked in with local Dealer and confirmed it will be a free upgrade, they seemed to know all about the issue and fix. I work in IT and do flash upgrades on hardware all the time, but for me, it is not worth the risk if you can get your local garage to do it for free. If they turn around and say otherwise I have downloaded the files just in case 🙂

Thank you so much QG. We’ve had our 2015 Nissan Tekna since 2018 and this issue with the music system cutting out and rebooting has been driving us bonkers. It’s took a few attempts but after trying a few different USB pens my Husband successfully uploaded the files and we went from software D302 to D605 in just lest than 56 minutes. In the end, he used an old 32gb 2.0 USB pen. So now we’re going to update my sisters 2016 Nissan Juke when she has a moment to spare. Again thank you QG… 😃👍🏻

Do you think that if I put hazard on and have a good battery it would suffice? Also what is the latest/higher version of software. My X Trail now has got life of it owns. Reset when it wants. I swear it play song that was not there like it was recorded to some hidden hard drive. I wish I recorded it. For example on Valentine day it was playing some annoying tune in the background out of nowhere. Any one had such issues.?

I have had issues with my stereo/sat nav just cutting out so was keen to find out what might be causing it. This video and guide is very helpful. I completed the update on my 2016 Qashqai (used a 32gb usb) and after a few issues trying to download the bigger files which I eventually sorted, it was a pretty straight forward process. It was completein about 55 minutes, I haven't got a battery charger so I just went for a drive whilst it was updating. Too soon to say whether it permanently fixes the issue but I certainly hope so. Thanks to The Qashqai Guy for putting up this video, links and instruction guide.

It actually works! Thank you. For me I tried several USB sticks but only a 4Gb FAT 32 would work. Unzipped the files to the drive. Updated from D302 on a 2015 Qashqui

2 folders have been downloaded. one is 1.6gb and the other is 1.9gb, do i simply drag there contents straight to the pen drive or do they have to be uncompressed?

Hello! I have a 2017 Versa, SW D555 HW: 038 I have had problems with my stereo, it no longer turns on and asks me for a firmware update. I tried many ways to update it but at percentage 58 it marks Check NOR FS and it restarts. What could be a solution for this problem? I have read in later comments that a USB 2.0 drive is needed. Is this necessary?

Thanks for the heads up, very helpful. A friend has a 2014 Nissan with Connect 3 that has been crashing occasionally when following a route. The Connect 3 hardware version is 033, the firmware was D302. Local Nissan wasn't answering phone so called Nissan UK and funnily enough they have a dedicated menu option for Connect 3 issues. Nissan stated issues probably caused by changes in the way DAB is broadcast in the UK. Free firmware update with the local dealer arranged, which now completed. Unit now on firmware D605, so hopefully crashes resolved. My recently acquired Nissan has Connect 3 hardware version 037 with firmware F216. Not had long enough to experience any crashes but if do will report back.

Many thanks for submitting this, have finally got it to apply and its updated successfully. Would like to make a comment on a couple of points, first the time mine took to apply was in total 55 minutes. Secondly, if you download all the files from the google drive location, there was one file missing when I did it. Not sure why it missed it, but check the instructions and ensure ALL the files are on your usb stick. You may have to download one of the files seperately to complete this. Not had it done long enough to test this, but feeling good about. Once again thank you so much for this, been putting up with this fault for about 6 months.

HI Richard, where did you manage to download the missing file? I am also missing one after the download..

Any idea if this would work for a 2013 juke? Setero looks different. None of my buttons (including the ones on the wheel) or the touch screen are working. If i put a cd in it it will play that. But that's all. Was working fine then started changing xm channels and turning up on its own.

Absolute legend! Have a 2016 tekna t32 that had the dab cutting out and occasional rebooting. It was running v502 it seems so hopefully this 602 sorts it. Update went smoothly. As someone else mentioned google drive zipped up the files into 2 separate zip files but i also had a popup from google drive i had to accept which was to allow multiple zip downloads or something. Anyway got a 1.9gb zip and a 1.6gb zip which i then unzipped everything to the usb drive. I had a car charger plugged in throughout and it was fine. It charges at about 5.8a if battery is low on charge but hen drops as it gets full but glad i didn't get a cut out like someone else on here did.

Just installed the firmware upgrade. No issues. Didn't use the battery charger as I don't have one, so just drove around for an hour. Installation took 54:20. Went from d503 to d602. I have a 2017 dci qashqai n- connecta. So far so it's working fine but will post again if I have any issues. Thanks again for the files. Much appreciated

It works for my Nissan Note 2015. Thank you very much for solving a big problem. The rebooting issue has been bothering me for months. It took exactly 58 minutes. I was riding in the car during that time. The Nissan Note has a facility to disable the auto-off system to prevent the engine from auto-off. I disabled Echo Mode to be extra safe.Thanks again...

Version D605 is supposed to be for RHD vehicles i read on a Dutch Forum posted by a Nissan Mechanic. Does anyone know the difference? Is the Display language changeable to Dutch in the D605 version posted here or do i need to search for an Other (Dutch LHD) version?

Hi, thankyou for providing these files. I have a DAB Radio that drops the signal. I have a 2017 Qashqai DIG 1.2 that has the older radio head unit in it (So no large screen or Sat Nav, just the small info bar. So my question is, does this software update also apply for me? or do I need to find a different update? The instructions you've provided relate to having the larger screen, so unsure if I'd even have the same information options on the display. Nissan customer service have told me my vehicle isn't on the list fro the free update as it's not old enough, but I'd have thought the older vehicles would also have the older head unit with no screen? A local Nissan dealership have quoted £66 for a software update, another £180. Any advice would be very welcome please. Thank you.

Update worked perfectly for me thanks. System didn't re-start on my first 30 minute drive, so looking good so far.

@Qashqai Guy - What are the actual software versions which are faulty ? I have D302 version in my 2016 Juke, haven't experienced problems (yet!) , so is this ok to continue with ?

I'd suggest if you aren't experiencing any issues, then not update.

Hi, I’ve just done the upgrade now on my 2017 J11 and it has all worked well following the instructions thanks. However I am still not able to get any DAB channels at all, is there something else I can check? In the service menu the DAB antenna status says OK but the field strength shows minus figures and in the standard menu on the DAB channel lists, all the stations have a xpx symbol to the left (I had to put a p but I think it’s the antenna symbol). Any thoughts what this could be caused by? Mel

i’ve just updated the software now it says software D605 but instructions say make sure it says software D502 is this correct or is it wrong

my only problem is i cant update my altima 2018's map bcoz of there is no option of SYSTEM INFORMATION in INFO tab which allows u to use USB, i m no vehicle expert but can this firmware resolve my problem bcoz buying new sd card for my region is quit expensive :(

O.M.G! You are amazing. The "station is unavailable" message has been driving me mad for years. Nissan charged me a lot to diagnose and just said "We've rebooted and it'll all be fine now" (which it wasn't) Your instructions worked perfectly. Your link needs to go on every Nissan forum. Thank you!

If you get "Update Failed !" what fixed it for me is formatting the usb with "Rufus" program and selecting "Non bootable" and MBR, target system as "BIOS or UEFI" and file system as FAT32.

Hi Nissan guy, I have a (67 plate) Qashqai and I have a problem with the Bluetooth. Every time I make a call from my phone, as the person on the call is talking back to me, they are telling me that their Voices are echoing back to them and sometimes there is a whistling noise also. This does this regardless of what phone is connected to the Bluetooth in the car and regardless of who is on the phone. Do you have any ideas as to what the issue is?? Thank you

I have a 2015 X-Trail, currently at Nissan Connect version D302. I've tried the D605 and D502 updates on two different Fat32 formatted USB sticks, but no joy so far. The unit detects the update files are present on the USB stick, but fails to copy any files, resulting in an 'Update Failed' message, then a reboot back to the D302 version. I might see if I can try any other USB sticks, but looks like I might have to put up with the occasional audio drop out. Frustrating, as the local dealership does not seem to be interested in doing the update for me.

I took my 2015 qashqai to Howard's in Weston Super Mare after Nissan advised me it was still a free update . Took a few hours after first attempt failed. They then tried to charge me £31 to change rear wiper blade. I got one fro Halfords for £11. Radio working fine now. By the way I received a backup email from Nissan with a name attached . Hi, just wanted to say all your videos have been really helpful and I would like to do what you did with your side mirrors, but I hear a lot about EL wire and was wondering what you think of them and if you plan to do something with them in the future with your car, I would like to be able to do something with them for the doors and the cross the Dashboard

Hi David, I have thought about it, it would probably need a few short pieces for the dash for it to be done right, and the doors would ideally have their own power source, which is possible. I may get round to it in the future.

Hi, my Pulsar's audio drops out sometimes, plus the volume knob goes a bit haywire. I believe these are things that this firmware upgrade should fix, so I’d like to give it a try. I just checked and I’m at D302, so way behind the latest D605. It sounds like your files and instructions should work on the Pulsar, but I have one question - The Nissan instructions recommend connecting a battery charger, to make sure that the car stays alive during the upgrade. I have a C-TEK MXS5.0 trickle charger, can I use that? Or should I just leave the engine running? Thanks.

As I understood from different readings on the web, the version D605 is only for right steering wheel . The thing is to get a similar update in the F version for left steering wheel. Any one has this version ?

Just a quick question, assume keeping engine running on my 2017 x-trail negates the battery charger steps on the instructions?

Just updated a Nissan Juke 2015, nice and easy to do with simple instructions. So far so good, hopefully I don’t get a phone call tomorrow from an angry woman who sat and watched me from start to finish 😂 55 minutes and 5 seconds from inserting the memory stick to removing it

Hi, I have a 2017 Qashqai radio/nav system that is cutting in/out as everyone is detailing. I want to do this update but have some questions based on certain responses. 1st Do you actually need to use a battery charger? …as one guy states to make sure the engine is running throughout….which is differs to the pdf procedure? 2nd When I download the files from your drive - I get 2 zip folders. 1 titled "USB-xxxxxxxxxx-001" & the other is titled "USB-xxxxxxxxxx-002" Are both zip files needed? Downloaded the link a few times and every time I get 2 zip files?. if yes, i assume both zip files on the usb from start to finish? Appreciate any help as this seems to have worked for many people. thanks

I'd suggest keeping the engine running throughout as it can take a while. Unzip both folders to the usb stick

Thanks also for this, performed today on our newly-acquired 66-plate X-Trail Tekna, version was 302 I think, now 605. Same software as here. Symptoms before were the unit rebooting itself often just while driving. Not 100% sure yet if that is fixed but will see. One word of warning, the update failed the first time as the battery gave out just before it finished updating. Bit squeaky bum as the unit was then very unhappy, but read again from the usb stick and we just left the car idling. First time round it was on mains charger, but didn't realise it was a smart jobbie that only put in 1A, this wasn't enough to sustain the battery with flashers going and accessory on, even with everything else turned off (fans etc). All good now though, just waiting for the new sd card and we'll be away. Cheers.

@@TheQashqaiGuy yeah got away with one, completely my responsibility and oversight. I was already looking at the dasaita route in the few hours while the same silly smart charger brought the battery back to life. Might still upgrade in the future, but it's spendy as you've pointed out, especially as you need extra stuff like the dab unit.

Thanks! updated sucessfully- it took 56 minutes in total. All is fine except "SD card NG". SD card is no longer recognised. I tried two different v5 and v3 versions and still SD card not found error.

I downloaded the files a few months ago and prepared them on a USB stick, was just checking the instructions and noticed the download files are slightly different now (new version has a _content.md5 and no SpecialLogDirX. Which version is correct? I tried the new version today but the update failed immediately so assuming USB stick, will try another one but just wanted to confirm the correct set of files? thanks

Make sure you unzip the files onto a stick that has been formatted to fat32 type.

Will the constant reboot of the multimedia interrupt the update? Is it safe to do it while this constant reboot occurs?

Try a different usb stick. Also did you format it to fat32 before?

Thank You! Got the files from the link, unpacked everything in to one folder and made a copy of all files in to the 16gb flash drive, nearly forgot to change flash drive from NTFS to FAT32. Left car running for 55min and received message with Update was Succesful! After update tried my mp3 songs from my flashdrive with newest maps inserted in to the card slot (got SD card from ebay around £25 - nav7 or something) worked everything fine in 30 min drive no crashes, used to be constant crashing and restart... Once again, thank you! Today is 15/09/2022 :)

Do i need to do this for a 68 plate x trail or will this already have the update

Hi pal, I have a 2014 J11 Tekna. Got it from Nissan directly and I've noticed that the DAB radio is a bit sketchy, particularly in and around where we live. However, my wife has a 2017 Juke and hers works perfect with no loss of signal. The FM and BT work faultlessly, I've checked the software and it is d024 which I imagine is the same software as it came with when new. Will updating it improve DAB signal? The car is under warranty with Nissan direct, they've just said the older systems aren't as great with their signal in more rural areas. If I push, should they update the software for me? Greatly appreciate any advice. Thanks.

hello Everybody do you know if I can use it on NIssan pulsar 2015 ?

This video is a couple years old, so I'm wondering where one could find the latest software version #'s for their model vehicle. I'm driving a 2016 Rogue and from what I can see I think the latest software is version "F220"? Can anybody confirm?

Hi, followed a few of your vids,many thanks. Question I just bought my Qashqai 2017 from local dealer ,after a struggle it turns out you can only use the connecta and apps for first 2 yrs of ownership . My Nissan dealer didn’t know and after they rang it turns out they pulled the app so anything older than 2 yrs you can’t access any apps. FB,trip advisor etc. You know of any work around or after market fix for this ? Ta

Not that I know of. The service was really bad anyway, barely worked and was extremely slow!

Seeing conflicting messages regarding the actual file size. I have downloaded from your link and unzipped which gives me a file size of around 2.09 gigs ?? I am on a iMac

Try a different usb stick and make sure it's formatted to fat32

I have a Qashqai J11a produced in May 2019. The firmware version is F214. I am wondering if this version in you Google drive is compatible with my car? And your version supports CarPlay?

No as your firmware is newer
