Thanks for commenting Natalia... One way to do this could be to disable editing directly in cell. Click the File tab, click on Option and then Advanced. In the options that show up, uncheck the 'Allow Editing directly in cell'. This would stop the prompt to show up. However, if you now need to edit cells that are not protected, you will have to do it through formula bar only.

Is there any way to add a filter in a protected file, which already has unlocked heading?

Hi there Sumit, is it possible to lock a specific range of cells in excel which has data using a macro, say 2 columns and 20 rows. In addition, I would like a user to be able to access the rest of the worksheet, hence a macro is also required for the unlock cell command.The above is required for multiple sheets, thus I would like to have this automated on a tab. I have been struggling with this. Kindly assist with a vba code.
