This sort of work is something you would rarely use unless if your work is related But nevertheless it's still nice to know

you can use countif with "x"s too though. the real value of checkboxes is if you're sharing the sheet with other people to use so it's user friendly

The ONLY thing that matters is if other people can understand your work. Otherwise, your aren't doing anything important with the program....

@@olifante1035 This might be a google sheets only feature iirc but you can turn boxes into dropdowns to restrict the input

You can also replace the integer number of boxes with the function to count the amount of boxes in one row. It's more universal that way

Cool trick. I normally just use countif "x" to do the same thing, but this looks nicer and less typing.

You can countif(range,"X") which is less typing than true and you dont have to do special formatting. Or counta(range) to get any that aren't blank

No it's not! Better use COLUMNS (C3:G3) instead of 5. Our world is not constant...same as number of exel columns filled with data. ;)

Checkbox is great. But if you have massive quantity of data, they slow the pc down. I ended up using 1 or blank at the end of the day. 😅

Make one for how to even get to this point. Like how you have all the names listed and checking the attendance box

For some reason, I really want to see Michael Scott and Optimus Prime in the same class/meeting.

At first there might be no difference except for it looking better but the storage of the boolean values can help if there are bigger collums of check boxes

And if you uwe the formula: =COUNTIF({range},"")/5 It doesn't care what you put in each cell as it counts all those which are not bkank.
