thanks for the nice step-by-step. I've got an old PDL. worst part of my day is loading and unloading and am always looking for better ways to tweak the process, short of buying a trailer.

I tie my cart to the kayak dead center of weight before I pull it from my trailer and I reload wheels to kayak while in the water , easy to pull it to the center, no dragging nose or rudder spinning and lifting to trailer which over time adds up
I have a similar setup to this, and if there's a nice boat launch like that just back the truck down into the water a bit and slide the kayak right off, works great for loading and unloading, no need to mess around with the cart. Cheers!

Good stuff - I ordered a cart that should be here Tues. it’s gonna help a TON with this kayak. I’ve had to carry it on its side over concrete and stuff (trying to keep the hull pristine).

I have the same kayak and cart and the most difficult part for me was getting the kayak back on the cart from the water. I’ve since added the hydra concepts aluminum tracks along with the track mounted boonedox which is great and makes things so much easier, but I do have concerns long term with the boonedox causing problems.

Yeah I worry about the load on a permanently attached cart but I know a lot of guys who use it, even on an AP 132.
This guy is on a whole new level since these videos haha
I load and unload my kayak almost the same way. Only difference is I put my cart on while the kayak is still in my truck bed hanging half way out so I don't have to worry about my kayak touching concrete. It also looks like Malone only packaged 1 strap with your cart. They did the same for the one I bought but the picture showed 2 straps, so I called them and they sent a 2nd one :)

I have a question please show us how you get the kayak out the water using the same method. I’m curious to know if you can get it back in ur truck as easily as you launched it into the water

Cool. I jeep top mine so it sucks 😂. I don't use my Old Town sportsman 106 kayak because of it 🤷♂️. Probably sale my Kayak by winter 🥶 or maybe next summer idk yet. Good video buddy until the next ✌🏼.

It's not so bad if you stand it on end and lean it first. Flukemaster has a good video in it. Biggest pain is having to completely unload it. Certainly more of a pain than a trailer. Backing the trailer into the water is the way to go.
I have an old town pdl 106 but seem like the only one to do this but I just back my truck down the ramp like the rest of the boaters and let it slide in the water by using a 10 ft floating rope to pull it back to me. When loading I do the same but use that rope and pull it back in.

Yeah that’s crazy expensive. That’s more than the AutoPilot prices here!
Will be doing this method from now on, but have yet to see someone load it back on the cart while in the water. Sure it will take some practice, and maybe the cart will need to go deeper, was wondering if the cart tries to float at all.
@WannaFishAllDay
Жыл бұрын
I’ve tried it and it works well. Yes, need to go a little deeper but the cart floats so it makes it easy.
This was very helpful. My question is what is that torpedo shaped motor on your anchor point and where do I get one?

It’s called Bixpy J-2.
I like to keep some rope tied to the front handle. I can push it away, or put the rope around a log, or under a rock so it doesn't run away while I take my cart back to the truck.

It’s a bixpy motor mount.
can't get into shallow water, you have to lift the drive up and that takes up alot of room,,i have the bigwater and you hit shallow points on the river..i should have gotten the Tarpon 120 paddle...maybe i should just get it. its on sale for $799.00
Do a video loading it coming back from the water….

Depends where you fish. Some lakes near me don’t allow boat launches so folks park their trailers and cart to the water. Probably a good idea to have one just in case.

Bummer. I have rod sleeves on all and put them on my kayak seat (laid completely flat) and strapped them down with no issues.
Why don’t you mount the wheels on the kayak while it’s in the truck. Wouldn’t have to to all that lifting. That’s what I did to my 106 PDL and it’s better than lifting the back on dry land. Now I have a trailer since it got to heavy to lift it into the back of my truck.

It’s an amazing kayak and very heavy duty cart. Def has enough space in the front hull to disassemble and put the cart in there. I would also consider the yakattack tow n stow bunkster cart. I have both but the yakattack is better for quick disassembly.
Instead of pulling the yak all the way out of the bed, how about pulling it out leaving the bow (there's no front bow, just the bow) on the tailgate and then attaching the wheels? Then you don't have to pick the yak up to put it on the wheels.
