I tie my cart to the kayak dead center of weight before I pull it from my trailer and I reload wheels to kayak while in the water , easy to pull it to the center, no dragging nose or rudder spinning and lifting to trailer which over time adds up

I have a similar setup to this, and if there's a nice boat launch like that just back the truck down into the water a bit and slide the kayak right off, works great for loading and unloading, no need to mess around with the cart. Cheers!

I have the same kayak and cart and the most difficult part for me was getting the kayak back on the cart from the water. I’ve since added the hydra concepts aluminum tracks along with the track mounted boonedox which is great and makes things so much easier, but I do have concerns long term with the boonedox causing problems.

I load and unload my kayak almost the same way. Only difference is I put my cart on while the kayak is still in my truck bed hanging half way out so I don't have to worry about my kayak touching concrete. It also looks like Malone only packaged 1 strap with your cart. They did the same for the one I bought but the picture showed 2 straps, so I called them and they sent a 2nd one :)

It's not so bad if you stand it on end and lean it first. Flukemaster has a good video in it. Biggest pain is having to completely unload it. Certainly more of a pain than a trailer. Backing the trailer into the water is the way to go.

I have an old town pdl 106 but seem like the only one to do this but I just back my truck down the ramp like the rest of the boaters and let it slide in the water by using a 10 ft floating rope to pull it back to me. When loading I do the same but use that rope and pull it back in.

Why don’t you mount the wheels on the kayak while it’s in the truck. Wouldn’t have to to all that lifting. That’s what I did to my 106 PDL and it’s better than lifting the back on dry land. Now I have a trailer since it got to heavy to lift it into the back of my truck.

Instead of pulling the yak all the way out of the bed, how about pulling it out leaving the bow (there's no front bow, just the bow) on the tailgate and then attaching the wheels? Then you don't have to pick the yak up to put it on the wheels.
