I read the context of the situation, and man, I hate present rogue carnos who still kill others after the diet change. There's no point in it. Carnos weren't meant to be cannibals to begin with and just annihilating others of your species sets you up for getting killed later.

@@honk1114 There's no direct evidence that Carnotaurus was a cannibal. Majungasaurus, which is a close relative demostrates cannibalistic behavior and teeth marks were found on the bones of Majungasaurus. However, there is no evidence of this found in Carnotaurus. Until we have legitimate proof via bitemarks, my point still stands. I'm not gonna believe shallow inferences since those are bound to change.

@@shlingusdingus4174 there is also no evidence of cerato being cannibalistic or deinosuchus being cannibalistic but we can assume from there relatives less ceratosaurus than deinosuchus that carno had a higher likelihood of being cannibalistic than cerato.

@@honk1114 Deinosuchus at the very least can be compared to modern-day crocs, which do cannibalize. There is also evidence that suggests Ceratosaurus also cannibalized when food was scarce, so both your points are false. There are, at the minimum, educated suggestions that both species you mentioned did cannibalize, but the same can't be said for Carnotaurus. We have no evidence or legitimate leads other than the weak correlation between Majungasaurus, which doesnt make sense in the slighest. Majungasaurus and Carnotaurus are too different in morphology, mass, biteforce, and the regions which they lived in. A Carnotaurus may have scavenged on a dead Carno, but I don't see that being properly implemented into the game. For the Isle, its either cannibal or not, and the devs already made their decision, which I fully support. Additionally, according to sources for Deinosuchus, which is highly compared to Crocodiles and Alligators due to their similar build and biology, they would have occupied the same niche as Alligators. Which means, they cannibalized. Alligators will commonly feed on younger gators.

Fellas, all carnivorous dinosaurs, and likely some “herbivorous” dinosaurs probably took part in cannibalism. In nature it’s not the exception, it’s the rule.

Understandable. I saw an opportunity to get revenge on these three carnos that had tried killing me earlier, and this teno that Id seen once carried me lol, just a cool little moment haha. However I'm almost always against mixpacking and megapacking.🍺

One time i was a croc and got chased out of the water by 2 other crocs. I was almost dead and a big stego was right there. He easily coulda killed me but he took pity on me, saved me, and protected me until I healed. I love the randomness of what will happen. Another time as a croc, I caught a dino and dragged them underwater. Started drowning them and they thought they were done for. Then I played a prank and just put him safely if a bit battered on the opposite shore of the river from his friends. I wish I could hear his reaction.

The issue of cannibalism in the isle seems to be really contentious at the moment, my personal opinion is that if cannibalism is part of your species diet, hunting your own is reasonable. Another thing though, loads of actual animals commit cannibalism (usually when food is scarce but regardless), even social animals like wolves will eat their own kind. The idea that say an Omniraptor preying upon a juvenile should cause it severe muscle spasms I think is quite silly, However REPEATEDLY eating your own species as a dinosaur with poor tolerance to cannibalism and getting sick? that makes a lot more sense. Cannibalism should be an option for most predators but for the majority, only in times of desperation.

Well, i can understand why a carno would kill another, as they can ser each other as competition, thats not the problem for me, the real problem is the mix pack

I agree, mixpacking is shit. In this particular case these same carnos that died tried 2 calling me and then killing me when they had the chance about half an hour prior. This was not in my intention to mixpack with the teno but rather to get my revenge on the carnos while they were distracted.

was playing a pachy in the northeast plains the other day, came across a fresh-spawn carno that 2 called me when i passed. about 15 seconds later, a small raptor pounced me so i turned to the lil carno (who had followed me prob because i left them alone), crouched, and watched as the raptor was chomped to death xD i got rid of fleas and a lil carno got an easy meal :>
