If you run fast in heavy hay then top of green might be needed. I use low side of green range to save wear on belt lacings and run medium ground speeds but still get hard tight bales.

It's sad that Vermeer invented the round baler and then let JD pass them up quickly. Vermeer never had a decent baler until they started copying JD's engineering with things like "Vertical" bale chamber instead of the "Bottom Drum" design and Vermeer's early "Double Twine Arms" were a complete joke. Again, they eventually copied the JD design. Dealer support has always been poor (in most areas) and still is.
