You're welcome. I had searched everywhere online and I couldn't find the hidden combination that turns off that pesky deep sleep for this specific printer. So I just tried random combos until I stumbled onto the answer.

thank you ! the other videos showing other key button presses did not work. This did! Deep sleep is the most frustrating bloody thing the printer goes dead and i have to turn it off and on again to print what a joke

I agree it is annoying. I searched online and could not find the hidden sequence to turn off deep sleep for this specific printer, so I just used trial and error until I stumbled onto the right combination.

I just bought this printer that I generally like: MFC-L2690DW. This sleep mode crap is obnoxious. I was about to return it. Maybe just throw it at the lobby of the corporate office. Then beat it with a baseball bat a few times. Fortunately, this method worked. It still goes into sleep mode to save power. But now, it automatically turns on when I send it a job via USB. (I don't use the wireless function yet, so I can't confirm if that works.)
