Same, put hubby was going put a through the hammer the printer

After 9 years of good printing, it stopped printing and did not turn on after turning it off. I was to dispose of it due to age, but luckily decided to have a look at KZread for a fix. Thanks for this trick. It works! Maybe for another 9 years of good printing.

OH WOW!! You just saved me about $650!!!! I had already placed an amazon order for replacement printer and then thought Hmmm wonder if somebody on youtube is talking about this. Found your video. Thank you for this brilliant and easy fix!! (Canceled new printer order)

Thank you! I had to try it a few times. After a Google search, I kept the printer unplugged for about 90 seconds. Then, held the power button for 15 seconds before plugging it back in, and continued to hold the power button after plugging back in. Bam! Success! This last time, the printer turned on in just a few seconds.

Wow. I was going to throw my printer out because they're not expensive enough to warrant a repair. This worked the second time i tried it. The first time was my error- I forgot to remove the paper tray which evidently is an essential part of the process. Much appreciate the quick, easy fix.

Haha! I do the same thing sometimes! I find a fix for something an when it happens again I have to look it up again!

It's October of 2021 and the fix still works! I had to use the "If this doesn't work the first time" solution, but my printer works again! THANK YOU!

Your video helped me to get my not the same model but a Brother printer back online. My printer experienced the same problems you described. Performing your explained method brought my printer back online. Today is Sunday and there is no support from Brother printers. I found your video and fixed the problem. Thank you!

I have another comment. Just to be certain my printer was permanently fixed, I unplugged it and plugged it back in. Oh- Oh. The same problem re-occurred. Your fix worked again, but it is clear that it is a temporary fix. I have copied and taped the directions for it on my printer, so that next time it has to be unplugged or the power goes out or etc ...I will know how to make it work again. Too bad we don't know a permanent fix. But thanks anyway. This is way better than nothing! Thankyou.

The first time my printer wouldn’t turn on, I thought my printer was broken. Later I found out my electrical wiring was bad and wasn’t working. Once I plugged it into a new electrical outlet, it worked.

Average Me, TY so much! I had a weird error on my trusted Brother MFC-2700DW yesterday after I was trying to print on the back side of a printed sheet and mistakenly removed the paper after the machine had flipped it and seemed to have paused! It then complained of a paper jam which I knew was not true. When I tried to power recycle the machine, it refused to come on!! Luckily I also have a Brother color printer which I ended up using. Today I came across your video and it worked like a charm! Once again, TY for documenting this for helping folks like me. :) Have a wonderful day.

Funny this just happened to me same printer. I heard it do a self clean earlier so I don't know what happened after. I tried your advise but it didn't work. So thinking about it I don't think I took out paper tray all the way. So I pulled it out and layer it on top to make sure. Lol. IT WORKED!!!! I am so happy! I don't have any money for a new printer. This did get me on the right track, but as one commentator noted, waiting longer than 30 seconds, trying it several times, and removing the paper tray before unplugging and holding the button finally worked.

printer hasn't turned on for several days. Tried everything, even hitting the side of the printer LOL. Watched your video and it worked on the first try! thank you

I don't know how, I don't know why. But this method worked on our slightly older modal. I'm assuming it's resetting the bios back to it's original state. What could have altered it to just not turn on anymore after all these years is beyond me. But it works so thank you Average Me! Even if this was uploaded 3.5 years ago, the method still works!

Thanks, this procedure worked great. I tried a dozen or so different methods to restart my printer and none of them mentioned removing the paper tray. That made the difference. Brother was of no help with this issue at all. Thanks again!!! R.À.B.

Wow! This worked! Thanks! Our brother printer (MFC-J1010DW) was completely dead while plugged in with no explanation. I did exactly what this video suggested and that worked!
