Nice skills. Neat pipe.
Exactly what I've been looking for! As an amateur woodworker, this is the exact thing to make me look professional. Love the format and music! Great job ✌️
I have made many pipes in the lathe... One of my favorites onesto make is to make a pipe about like you have. When I turn it I put an extra 2 - 2 1/2 inches my blank. Then when I drill my 3/16th hole all the way through it. I use those holes t center my spindles. I basically turn what you have but with the extra 2 1/2 inches I turn a separate bowl with a 1/2 inch stem tapering to the bowl chamber. Like a smoke stack. I turn it right on the end of the mouth piece and then when both are done I part them almost apart and finish on the band saw or with a coping saw. Now where you drill your 5/8 hole I drill a 1/2 in hole for the stem of the bowl to go. Then get a solid piece of 2x stock you can clamp down and drill a 1/2 in hole and you can place the stem of the bowl in it and it can hold it in place when you drill the 5/8 hole in the top. Now the stem of the bowl will slide into the other making it a 2 piece pipe that is not any harder to make. If you drill the 3/16th hole all the way through the base stock the hole in the end will become a carb for the index finger. I have made well over 100 as I just finished turning 4 of them a hour ago. I have a pecan tree that every year I trim in spring and I save all the limbs big enough. I cut them up 8 in long or so with my bandsaw and toss them in the corner of my shop to dry. ^ months later I make pecan pipes from them. When done I plug the bowl and holes with paper and I lacquer finish the rest of the pipe. I also make a little handle 3 inches long that I drill and place a 1/8 piece of stainless tig rod into. cut long enough to go all the way through the stem. It is a quick cleaning rod if it plugs. Also good to knock out a 5/8s screen if it gets stuck.. Maybe one day I will do a video so you can see mine. They look really cool and easy maintenance. to keep them clean and smoking well. I have not done cherry yet but I have done Apple a few times from when my dad trims his trees. Very nice build. I hope I did not loose you
Bur bits are better for drilling pipe bowls because they create a rounded bottom which is easier to keep clean. Your squared off bottom can collect a lot of crud in the corners that is hard to clean out and just builds up.
This is amazingly well done. Love the intro.
This is such good quality video, I'll be trying this tomorrow, cheers 👍
Nice pipe. Cherry wood is one of the best for making pipes.
Very good!
Cool idea man. And maybe instead of sanding to make a flat spot just do it on the bawl head. And the way u stood it up was a cool way too. Nice signature bawl pc bro.
superb 👌👌👌👌
I just made this today. Was hoping to send you a photo of it, but can't. Thanks for the idea.

Круто!!!👍👍👍
The "Thing Without a Name" is a Spur Center.
If the next thing you made was a wooden mallet, you wouldn't have to grind off the mushroom from that spur drive.
what oil did you say? I couldn't hear you kind sir. and I wanted to say: THAT IS AWESOME!

Thank you. I use baby oil, which is just basically mineral oil, just less expensive.

thanks.@@dhellard214
Hey man, I needed to ask, do you need to put a filter in the pipe? I have seen both shorter and loner types of pipes and am still not sure if this one needs it. Thanks

I guess it's just a matter of preference. I don't think one is required by any means.

Why didn't you drill the hole and do the finish all on the lathe?
Any problems jumping from 220 to 1000 grit?

I've never had any problems with it. It's pretty smooth after the 220, so the 1000 is more of a polishing
