I set my front springs up really stiff, and the back soft in order to put more weight on the back tires when launching the car, helps with traction quite a bit. I don’t have my springs set all the way stiff, because the car becomes a little harder to steer, and also affects speed by messing up the throttle going over bumps, I took my fronts down 2 steps and it goes flawlessly

I for one appreciate the shit out of this for a basic starting point to tuning for drag racing! Thank you! I know a fair amount about cars but still need help in many areas. I'm hoping this will help me make my own great tunes in the future! Gonna start messing around! Thank you!
Thabks for sharing this. I keep coming back to it for help on how to tune them. Thanks brother
When it comes to the final drive, I tune it the way I tune it for every car which is mostly for top speed

I will agree with you as far as roll cage/weight issue but an intercooler provides a good amount of hp. 80 lbs is nothing for 1 hp.
Seemed like I was last but darted on last gear, that's great
As much as I played FH3 and FH4, and now FH5 (and FM7 while we're at it), I was never really into drag racing. I always found it a little bit meh, and besides that, I spent more time loading the thing up than actually playing in it. In FH4, I played the drag races maybe 1 time, just to get done with them, and never touched them again. I decided to give it a go in FH5, so I took the Dodge Hemi '68 and tuned it similar to this video, and boi that thing is fast! I won against unbeatable drivatars with ease and also got 3 stars on some Danger Signs too! Also it is so fun doing wheelies. I feel like I have been missing out on a ton of fun.
That was a clean intro.

I wish forza had realistically turning permitters not just find the random setting that’s the best
ide argue the although roll cages add weight they help these older muscle cars that have alot of frame twisting which throws off your tires on the ground so the 1st or second roll cage upgrade may be worth it, then you can fine tune that lift with your anti roll bars. you want your rear anti roll bars to be as soft as possible without the rear end lifting on one side. you dont need the front arb unless you are getting excessive twist in the front of the vehicle which the roll cage should take care of.
Thanks mate
Please do more tune videos not only are they helpful but new players can get into the fun faster with the right tune

So ive decided to make a 79 Camaro drag tune and when i put a intercooler in it the car goes lighter by 50 to 100 lbs depending on the intercooler it also drops my 0-60 by .8 secs. so i dunno if its depends on the car or not.

Its a tuning tutorial, not a tune buddy
This made my car slower
As a quick question, nothing but respect for the build. But I’m genuinely curious to know that is there anyone out there who is tuning cars for the most optimal run on the strip? I used this time and it’s not bad at all. I’m hitting 199.50 at the speed camera on that same strip. But I tuned my own Monte Carlo and was able to get it to hit 207.00. But the build and tune I used is not your ideal tune build. I used AWD and twin turbo, and the race exhaust. All the jazz to put down the power. But it’s not what one would consider a “drag car”. I built it to be the most optimal for beating others in a drag race. But I want to learn to tune it even further and make it faster. I still to this day come across others with the same car who are faster. I’m really curious as to what they might be tuning differently or what technique they’re using to go faster in the drag races. What I’ve seen on KZread is when people give a tune, it’s just what a drag car would “look like” or what a drag car should be like. But it’s not the most optimal. And the ones who build insanely fast tunes usually don’t share how they made it that fast. Only giving a code for a car instead of explaining
How would the tuning setup change if I wanted awd instead of rear wheel drive? Would it change at all? Good video btw, it really helped with my cuda
I got my diff full lock on accel but is it possible to run shorter springs in the front than in the back? Also I've been running spacers on the back wheels, in your experience is there any benefit to this in drag cars?

i dont understand not upgrading the breaks, that reduces weight. the intercooler generally isnt a great mod, but at times using street or sport is good. its all about the power to weight ratio.
@ssspectator2535

on the hemi dart with a 6.2L V8 the race intercooler gives 35 kw of power and also 35 kg of weight, a perfect 1:1 ratio

Should I use rally springs and dampers if there is no off road springs and dampers, rally is the most high suspension out of the selection for the dart hemi

0.8' front positive camber for a smaller contact patch yet you run low inflation pressure on the front to increase the contact patch? Surely you're better off with max front pressure and zero camber?
What I want to know is how do you race the drag run like in Forza Horizon 4? I'd spend every Friday night racing the drag run against loads of players on Forza Horizon 4, however am still yet to find out how to do that in Forza Horizon 5. Anyone have any tips please?
Adding 50 hp is more effective in a straight line than subtracting 650lbs which means that intercooler could weigh over 1000lbs and you would still be faster if you added it. Also I’m assuming you r just building this car for fun or perhaps horizon open since you rnt bothering to consider PI budget for a specific class
Im late but his car doesnt have the option but you wont do race oil/cooling either
Hey I’m a drag tuner from fh4 and I’m on fh5 why don’t you want your front to be slammed down just curious
@C18Motorsport

I don't want it slammed, so it has movement so when the pressure pushed down on the car going fast, it has the ability to suck up some of that pressure and settle itself, but that's just me?

What's the best gearing setup for a drag car in fh5
Try the 68 dodge dart ss
After tuning since forza had the option and I have a set of my own drag tunes that are basically the opposite of this video. I followed this video and lost a considerable amount of traction off the line. You 110% want the rear to be as soft as it will go and slowly bump the stiffness. You want the car to eat as much of the blow to the rear as possible so when the car yanks forward it slams the rear tires down and obsorbs the blow from the car. In turn it slams the back tires down harder giving you much more off the line traction. If you stiffen everything up all the way there is no cushion they is no absorbing the torque its just gunna roast the tires.

Do you know any good way to calculate what your gearing tunes should be at?
What is the share code for the tune, cuz I ain't putting 15 minutes into my time trying to perfect the tune.

just a note, you would want to make the vehicle wider. i dont know why you said it didnt matter when it sort of does, making it wider will increase stability. otherwise, good tutorial.

2 жыл бұрын
you are correct, i was in the middle of making a video and just misspoke, good catch buddy
@notbappo2435
Жыл бұрын
@@jboe7683 Yes..it does? without stability you have a higher chance at swerving under the sudden acceleration, which will affect how fast you accelerate when you're constantly trying to correct the vehicle so it does go straight. the more stable, the better. the entire point of stability is for stability IN STRAIGHT LINES, cars the corner of course will need stability, but in order to corner you need to lose that straight line stability, something that drag cars don't need to do, so they can opt for the best stability to go straight. Point is, stability MATTERS
